What are the benefits to be part of God’s family? What does God offer us as being a part of his family? What is the reward the believers will receive.
When I was a young boy, I recall a private club and only members was allowed to use the pool. On a certain day of the week the private club will allow their members to bring guests in to use the pool. Could this been an invite to allow guests to join that private club.
God invites all of us to be a part of his family. Some will not accept that invite. They don’t want to give up a lifestyle in which they love to much. They might have a lot or a little but they don’t want God to interfere in their lives. Do you know God is not interfering in their life to a negative point, but God is only enhancing their lives, with good things. Things their minds can’t comprehend. Once they see the truth in God and all that he offers then it could be to late.
What privileges do the believers have? Those who recieve Christ as their Lord and savior, and come to understanding of him, they do have the rights to become the children of God. According to John 1:10-12
He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
John 1:10-13 KJV
1. One of the privileges we have is the right to be sons or children of God. This tells us a lot. We are now part of God’s kingdom. Not born by the flesh, but by the spirit of God.
This statement is supported by many other scriptures within the Bible. Look at my other studies with our identity in Christ.
2. Our name is written in the lambs book of life. Those who come to Jesus Christ with a full heart without wavering. Having their faith commitment to God. It is them who’s name will be written in the lambs book of life.
The result of our name written in the lambs book of life is eternal resting place in God’s kingdom.
Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life.
Revelation 21:27 NIV
To see it clearly, some restaurants have a reservation list. The list is to inform the host or hostess not to let anybody in unless their name is on it. They don’t want unwanted guest in the building taking spaces reserved for somebody else. We can now see the meaning. A holy city, a place of total peace. It will be like a second Eden.
Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. No longer will there be any curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will serve him. They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever.
Revelation 22:1-5 NIV
3 You might say what about us in this present world we live in. You might not see it but God has given so much to us in the world we live in today. The scripture is full of revelation of what God already has given us. It is up to us to recieve it. Jesus said ask and it shall be given unto you. Jesus said also what ever you ask for, God hears you. If it is within his will it shall be given unto you. John chapter 14 and 15. The main thrust of it is you need to remain and abide in God word.
4. Our life is full of the Goodness of God.
We may want to do evil but yet our life is hidden in God. Being hidden in God we can have full access to his kingdom now. Those wonderful things God grant us to have. A clear mind, a new heart. A heart filled with his goodness. Having the light of God within our lives. Most of all being anointed by God to do good works.
We may travel this world, going from town to town. Enjoying the privileges that we have in our membership to something. There is no other place to be but in the hands of God. Having our life totally under his care. Our privileges is not only in this world but in the passing over into the new things that are coming in the book of Revelation.
This was only a part of our privileges, tomorrow it will be what will our reward be in that new Jerusalem.
