Have you ever wondered what Jesus really meant when He promised us the “keys of the kingdom”? In a legal sense, a key isn’t just a piece of metal; it is authorization. It is the right to enter, the right to manage, and the right to use what belongs to the owner.
When you become a believer, your “legal status” changes. You are no longer an outsider; you are a person with a Power of Attorney for the Kingdom of God. This means you have been given the legal right to act in the Name of Jesus, using His authority to carry out His will on this earth.
1. You Are an Authorized Agent
Think of a Power of Attorney in everyday life. If you give someone this power, they can sign your name to a check or a contract, and the bank must honor it as if you did it yourself. When Jesus gave us His Name, He gave us His Executive Signature. As long as we are doing what He told us to do, the “Bank of Heaven” is legally obligated to back up that signature.
The Scripture: “And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.” (John 14:13-14)
The Scripture: “And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” (Matthew 16:19)
2. You Are a Heavenly Ambassador
The Bible tells us that we are high-ranking officials sent from one country to live in another. Here is the secret to an ambassador’s power: they don’t speak their own opinions; they only say what their King tells them to say, and they are protected by the government that sent them. You are here to bring the “rules” of Heaven down to your life on earth.
The Scripture: “Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.” (2 Corinthians 5:20)
The Scripture: “For our conversation [citizenship] is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ.” (Philippians 3:20)
3. The Protocol of the Lord’s Prayer
Jesus even gave us a simple way to stay in line with our legal rights. The Lord’s Prayer is actually a Legal Protocol—a way of filing a petition in the Court of Heaven to ensure the King’s will is being done in your territory.
The Scripture: “After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.” (Matthew 6:9-10)
The Scripture: “Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.” (Matthew 6:11-13)
Summary
You aren’t just a civilian trying to get by. You are a duly authorized representative of the Highest Court. You have the Keys (the right to act), the Name (the signature of power), and the Office (the position of an ambassador). When you understand these legal rights, you stop begging for a miracle and start enforcing the victory Jesus already won for you.
The Proclamation to Seal the Deal
“I declare today that I am a saved, authorized heir of Jesus Christ. I recognize that I have been granted the Power of Attorney through the Name of Jesus, according to John 14:13, and I carry the Keys of the Kingdom in my hand as promised in Matthew 16:19.
I take my place as a Heavenly Ambassador in this earth. I bind every work of darkness, lack, and confusion in my life right now, and I loose the peace, provision, and power of God over my home and my work. I am not acting in my own strength, but I am standing on the legal authority of the Word of God.
Heaven backs me up, the Name of Jesus validates me, and the Holy Spirit empowers me. It is settled, it is signed, and it is done. In the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen!”
Have a God blessed day
