ACT 6:8-15

WHEN THE WORLD IS AGAINST YOU

We are picking up in ACTS 6:8-15 to take a look at a person who didn’t do anything wrong except to proclaim the good news and only doing what God instructed him to do.

Being one of the chosen 7 to give aid the apostle according to Acts 6:5-6, Stephen was not a popular person among some of leaders at this time (Acts 6:9-10). One reason behind Stephen greatness was his faith in God.

When it comes to a strong faith in God, we will be a witness to him. We will do what God leads us to do. Stephen in others words allow God to use him to do great things. To perform great wonders and signs among the people.

When we stand up and out for God people wont like us and will try anything in their power to keep us quiet. Stephen used what God gave him to do in the ministry. When people found out they was loosing an endless battle with stephen they forced people to lie against him.

This is where our topic is from it may seem like the world was against him, but God was able to use Stephen up to the very end of his life.

When people want to keep you quiet first they go out and find other that they can intimidate. They use them against to start rumors and lies. Those rumors and lies will only caused a commotions in your daily life.

This what happened to Stephen in verse 12 -14. They found people to bring false accusations against Stephen.

How do you stop such things from happening. When it seems like the world is not on tour side. This is when you let your light so shine before men.

Greater is he that is in me than those who are against me. God power that work in us is far greater than anything we could imagine. Even if we have to die for Christ, than we know out living is not in vain.

Have you ever wonder why people started all of this against Stephen? Why was Stephen able to go toe to toe with the people? Chapter 7 give us the detail about all of this.

The power of God and the faith Stephen had in God was so real. The reason behind this was found in verse 15. Stephen face was like the face of an angel. How do one get to that point. Was that his true nature coming out of him. Was they seeing the power of God in the face of Stephen. All I can say and do is trust in God. Our outer self only reflect our inner self. Since stephen was filled with both faith and the holy spirit his face was reflecting only his true nature.

Never give up keep on proclaiming his truth and his word. The power that God had given us is not for selfish reason but to glory God. You are only a reflection of your inner being.

When the world is against you for doing the right things of God, don’t give up continue to rely on God and all of his promises. The world may be against you but knowing God got you is the greatest joy ever and ever.
