Topic is our spiritual armour or the armour of God. We will be looking at the first 3 pieces of armour today. Tomorrow the last three. Each peace of the armour help the believer to face the attack of the enemy. For that reason wearing the spiritual armour is a daily commitment.
We are walking and living in the authority of Christ and as we do this we are able to suit up each day for the battle.
Everyday it’s a war going on in the spiritual realm, but as we use our authority or power that we have in Christ
We can win each time.
How we go about winning the battle is to stand firm by
1st having your loins girt about with truth.
If you look deeper into this we see we must encircle ourself with the truth or the word of God. Knowing the absolute truth we can defeat the enemy. Good example we know batman use his utility belt it is around his waist. What he needed was very accessible at any point in time. Therefore the belt of truth around our waist, is a way to defeat the attack. We have the truth of God before us.
2nd is having on the breastplate of righteousness. As I think of the breastplate my first thought is a bulletproof vest. What does that vest do. It stop the bullet from penetrating into a person’s body. When I went deeper into the study the breastplate, protected the vital human organs . These organs are the heart, liver, kidneys, and lungs. Without a roman soilder wearing the breastplate death is likely to come.
Each day as we wear our spiritual armour we are protected within that area. The heart is one organ that is important in life. Without the heart all life is dead. The breastplate of righteousness is a part of the armour that let us know that we are righteous in God. Being made righteous through God, our heart is belongs to him. When evil forces come to attack us with the heart, they are unable to get us. In other words, we have assurance in Christ, knowing we have past from death into the light. By knowing this how can evil forces get to the main source of our being, which is our spiritual heart when we are protected. By knowing this we gain authority over the enemy. Meaning he can come after us but he won’t win.
3 feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace. What do we see here, first words that come to my attention is peace. Nations today are looking for a way to gain peace over each other. What if they do, will it last forever? As we go out and about, remember what one passage of scripture reads. Always be ready to give an account of the hope that is within you. This passage of scripture is only a reminder to prepare ourselves to share or spread the word. The word is the gospel of peace. When we have the word in us and on us the enemy my come twist the words up, but let’s be reminded Jesus faced temptation, Satan came at him from every angle he could. Jesus began to quote scripture against Satan. Since we are in him and we are not greater than Jesus, than have the word ready to share. The more we have the word of God on us and in us we can be victorious. The enemy has to flee, because our position and authority we have in Jesus Christ.

As we put on our spiritual armour each day we can withstand the attack from the enemy. Suit up for everyday the attacks will come because the devil is looking to devour God’s people. The schemes, the plot, any means necessary to make sure the believers in Christ will lose in the battle. Our confidence is in Christ, the power is in Christ, and the authority is in Christ. If we are in Christ than we can walk with boldness and confidence knowing greater is he that is in me, than he that is in the world.
