THE HISTORY OF GIVIN H.O.P.E. MINISTRY

THE HISTORY OF THE GIVIN H.O.P.E. MINISTRY OF EVANGELISM

A Message of Welcome and Renewal
Welcome to this significant day. We are not merely marking another year in this ministry; we are celebrating fresh beginnings and renewed purposes. Whether you are across the street or across the globe, we thank you for joining us as we honor what God has done and what He is about to do.

The Genesis Moment: Daytona Beach

The dawn of this journey began with a vision at Daytona Beach, Florida. The image of those powerful, never-ceasing waves serves as a reminder that God is forever at work within a person’s life. For me, this was the start of a divine purpose. In March 1984, during a Campus Crusade for Christ spring break outreach, a clear calling emerged. It was accompanied by a prophetic word that I would be living in Florida within a decade.
Like the sun breaking through clouds, a moment of profound clarity arrived in 1990. I received an undeniable, direct call from the Almighty to serve as a minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The groundwork had already begun in 1985 when I led a Bible study at Northern Virginia Community College in Manassas. By the late 1980s, I was actively shaping young lives while teaching the youth Sunday school class at Providence Baptist Church in Orleans, Virginia.

Prophecy Fulfilled and the Season of Surrender

What was prophesied in 1984 came to pass in June 1994 when I relocated to Florida. During that season, I was focused on my own pursuits and lifestyle, yet I felt a persistent, internal “pressing calling.” Although personal responsibilities and jobs often hindered my immediate obedience, God’s path remained before me.
The year 2005 brought a pivotal shift as I moved to South Carolina. The hardships I faced in Florida, including financial trials and health challenges, became a divine catalyst. They prompted a total surrender to my calling, paving the way for a new phase of obedience. In 2008, I began sharing “A Daily Dose of Medicine for Your Spiritual Soul” on Facebook. This daily devotional was a reflection of my own growth as I became who God called me to be.

The Evolution of Givin H.O.P.E.

Between 2008 and 2015, my heart for evangelism began to manifest through logos and banners that reflected the genesis moment in Daytona. In May 2015, the ministry was named Life-Changing Experience, focused on bringing hope to the hopeless. This soon transformed into GivinHope Ministry. As the vision expanded, we recognized that prayer is the engine of change. This led to the definitive name: Givin H.O.P.E. Ministry, where H.O.P.E. stands for Helping Others Through Prayer and Evangelism.
In May of that same year, while working with Project Love, I delivered my inaugural public message, “You’ve Been Drafted,” calling others into spiritual service. During this time, I was immersed in teaching Sunday school and leading Noon Day prayer, which eventually led to my recognition as Evangelist John Corum.

Global Impact and Strategic Partnerships

In June 2017, I followed a divine leading to join The Move of God International. This pivotal year also allowed the ministry to support Apostle Winford Meadows, my mentor and spiritual father, in establishing a weekly television broadcast. By September 2017, God led me to orchestrate “The Awakening,” a monumental cross-continental revival spanning from the United States to Monrovia, Liberia, in partnership with Christ in Me Prayer Ministries and Pastor Henry Tarsheyah.
Since July 2017, we have marked July as our ministry’s new year, a time of renewed vision. Our digital presence reached a milestone in July 2018 with the launch of givinhopeministry.org. This platform, alongside our flourishing work on Facebook and YouTube, has allowed us to reach a global audience. Since October 2018, we have broadcast “Friday Night Alive,” serving as a voice on social media to herald the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

A Milestone of Ordination and a Global Commission

In 2020, I became a member of Triumph Church House, later serving as the head of the media ministry and teaching the adult Sunday school class. July 2022 marked a significant milestone in my journey as I was formally ordained at Triumph Church House—a moment of public recognition for the call God placed on my life decades ago.
Today, we stand firm on our guiding principle: “REACHING THE WORLD FOR JESUS CHRIST.” Inspired by Matthew 28:18-20, the Great Commission drives every posting, every prayer, and every message we produce.

A Final Word of Faithfulness

As the sun rises again over the horizon, the message remains timeless: Be true to yourself, be true to others, and be true to God. This is the essence of our walk and our call to authenticity. My heart overflows with gratitude for God’s faithfulness and for your presence in this journey. Thank you for being a part of the heart of Givin H.O.P.E. Ministry of Evangelism. May God richly bless you.
Truly yours,

Founder/Elder John Corum
