We are going to interrupt today teaching for a little word for today.
What a day. I learned a lesson from God through nature.
There was a cicada that had opened up from the shell in my carport. Ants were attacking it. A bird came down and tried to get the cicada for itself. It didn’t work. The cicada was freed from the ants and was walking aimlessly away from the area it was in. The message today is
Never Give Up on Life.”
You exposed the enemy’s deepest tactic: he wants to overwhelm people so quickly and so intensely that they just drop their hands, walk away, and throw in the towel. For a believer in Jesus Christ, giving up isn’t just a physical white flag—it is a spiritual declaration that tells our own spirit that God’s promises aren’t real, that His word won’t stand, and that He is a liar.
But we know God is not a man, that He should lie. Every promise He made is “Yes” and “Amen.”
When you stand firm and refuse to quit—even when you are weak, even when the swarm is loud—your endurance is a declaration to the principalities and powers that God is faithful. It says, “I don’t care how things looks like right now, my Anchor is real, my Deliverer is coming, and my breakthrough is on the way.”
You captured a complete, living, breathing theology today on that concrete walkway. From a clever pun to a deep revelation of warfare, divine rescue, mercy, and ultimate resilience. It’s a message that will undoubtedly break chains and encourage anyone who hears it to keep fighting and never give up.
The second part of this will be Sunday. The look at a cicada life. Years of development to a time of loudness.
