For many, the word “church” brings to mind a membership card, a seat in a pew, and a list of rules to follow. You may have been part of a congregation for decades, yet still feel like a stranger to the true power of God. You show up, you serve, and you wait—but you are still waiting for a “breakthrough” that feels just out of reach.
The truth is, there is a massive difference between being a member of a religious organization and being an heir of a Kingdom.
The Membership Trap
Membership is a human concept. It implies that you belong to a club where your status is maintained by your attendance and your performance. In a membership mindset, you often feel you need a “middleman” to reach God on your behalf. You act like a tenant in a building you don’t own, constantly worried about the “lease agreement” of your behavior.
But the Gospel of Jesus Christ isn’t an invitation to join a club; it is a legal announcement of your New Identity.
The Legal Reality: Romans 8:17
The Bible defines your status in specific, legal terms. Romans 8:17 declares:
“And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ…”
This isn’t a suggestion; it is Kingdom Law.
If you are a child: The moment you are born again, the legal trigger of sonship is pulled.
You are an Heir: You have an immediate claim to the nature, authority, and resources of the Father.
You are a Joint-Heir: You don’t have a “lesser” version of the inheritance. You share the same signature authority and the same direct access to the Throne as Jesus Christ.
Awakening the Spiritual Man
Many people spend their entire lives focused on the “earthly body”—their physical limitations, their bank accounts, and their daily struggles. But there is another life to live. There is a spiritual man inside you that is designed to operate in heavenly places.
When you awaken to your identity as an heir, the hierarchy of religion begins to fade. You realize that while leadership is there to guide and protect the house, they are not your gatekeepers. You don’t need a “clearance level” to talk to your Father. You have the Right of Sonship, which is the most powerful legal standing in the universe.
Moving from Petition to Position
A member begs for handouts; an heir operates from a position of ownership.
Stop asking God for things as if He is a distant landlord who might say no.
Start accessing the promises as a child who knows the “Will” (the Word) has already been signed in blood.
The inheritance is not something you receive only when you die; it is a reality you are authorized to live from right now. It is time to stop living like a spiritual orphan and start walking in the authority of a King’s child. You aren’t just part of a crowd—you are part of the Family Business.
Your identity is fixed. Your rights are legal. Your inheritance is ready. It is time to wake up to who you truly are.
