1. The Logistics of the “Planting“
The Hole: It wasn’t just a surface-level placement. It was dug deep (3–4 feet) into the limestone to handle the massive weight of the sacrifice.
No Tilt: The soldiers wedged it with stones to ensure it was a perfectly vertical, unshakeable guidepost.
The Impact: When that beam hit the bottom of the hole, the “thud” was the sound of the New Foundation being set into the Earth.
2. The Atmospheric Signs
The Darkness: It lasted for 3 hours (noon to 3:00 PM). It was a cosmic “convening” where Heaven shut the lights off on the physical world to complete a spiritual transaction.
The Earthquake: The Earth reacted twice—once at the “planting” (death) and once at the “bursting forth” (resurrection).
3. The Resurrection Witnesses
The “Marys”: To be strictly accurate for your broadcast, focus on Mary Magdalene and the “Other Mary” (mother of James/Joses).
Martha’s Role: While she received the promise (“I am the Resurrection”), she is not recorded at the tomb. Keeping it to the Marys ensures your historical “guidepost” is precise.
4. The “Not Yet Ascended” State
The Transition: Jesus was in His risen body but told Mary Magdalene, “Touch me not,” because He had not yet ascended to the Father.
The High Priest: He was in the process of presenting the blood in the Heavenly Tabernacle. He had defeated the “gravity” of the hole, but had not yet taken His seat on the throne.
5. The Compass & The Destination
Direction: The cross is the Compass. It points the way, but it is not the end.
Destination: The Resurrection is the arrival. Without it, there is no salvation; with it, the “30-hour journey” becomes a roadmap to Victory.
