Today is the second letter in the word relief. Eliminate the negative. Some people always have a negative approach in life. They are so negative in everything they do and never have a positive concept in life. Today and tomorrow we are going to talk about what the Bible tells us about having a positive approach to things in life. Why do people think negative and how negativity can cause people to be stressed out.
These are some ways to find relief from the pressure of stress when we try to eliminate the negative.
Living by Faith, Not by Sight. (2 Corinthians 5:7): Our feelings and circumstances can often fuel negative thoughts. The biblical call is to walk by faith in God’s promises, even when our emotions or external realities seem to contradict them.
Practice Forgiveness. (Colossians 3:13): Unforgiveness, can be a major root of bitterness, anger, and other negative emotions. Releasing forgiveness, both to others and ourselves, is a biblical pathway to inner peace.
Cultivate a Spirit of Gratitude (1 Thessalonians 5:18): Actively choose to give thanks in all circumstances. This shifts your perspective from what is wrong to what God is doing or has done.
Focus on God’s Character When negative thoughts arise, intentionally reflect on God’s attributes: His love, faithfulness, power, wisdom, and goodness. This builds trust and reduces fear.
Replace with Truth It’s not enough to just stop a negative thought; you must replace it with a positive, biblical truth. If you’re struggling with fear, replace it with verses about God’s protection. If you’re feeling inadequate, meditate on verses about your identity in Christ.
As we post we will be teaching these on the next day of our rise and shine early morning devotional
