Rely on God as you deal with the pressure of stress

As we introduce this topic we need to define rely. 

Rely is complete confidence in another person, place or things. We rely on the person to be honest with us. We rely on the car to start when we crack it up. We rely on many things. We expect it to happen at a given place or time. We rely on the game to start on time.

The topic today is relying on God within the midst of our pressure from stress.  3 key elements in handling stress in life as we rely on God

Study the word of God, seeking God for answers, be around people of like faith, and praise and worship God throughout the day are many ways to find relief in pressures in daily life. 

Verses to support our teaching can be found in

Philippians 4:6-7 states, when we pray and present our requests to God, the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard our hearts and minds. This deep, inexplicable peace is a form of profound relief from anxiety

Isaiah 26:3: “You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.” This verse highlights the connection between trusting in God and experiencing peace.

Romans 15:13: “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” This verse speaks directly to the hope that comes through trusting in God.

There are benefits in relying on God and trusting in him. Better health, right mind and clear thoughts. Slow to anger and feeling better about yourself and others.  Rely on God in the midst of your stress and you will need it.
