Key Events of Good Friday:
* Trial and Condemnation: Following his arrest on the night of Maundy Thursday, Jesus was brought before various authorities, including the Jewish high priest Caiaphas and the Roman governor Pontius Pilate. Despite finding no fault in him, Pilate eventually succumbed to the pressure of the crowds and sentenced Jesus to death by crucifixion.
Scourging and Mocking: Before the crucifixion, Jesus was scourged (whipped) and mocked by Roman soldiers. They placed a crown of thorns on his head, dressed him in a purple robe, and taunted him as the “King of the Jews.”
Carrying the Cross: Jesus was forced to carry his own cross to Golgotha (also known as Calvary), the site of the crucifixion. However, due to his weakened state, Simon of Cyrene was compelled to help him carry it.
Crucifixion: Jesus was crucified alongside two criminals. He was nailed to the cross through his wrists and ankles. A sign was placed above him, reading “Jesus of Nazareth, the King of the Jews.”
The final word Jesus said.
My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” (Matthew 27:46 and Mark 15:34)
“I am thirsty.” (John 19:28)
*”It is finished.” (John 19:30)
“Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.” (Luke 23:46)
Death: After hours of suffering on the cross, Jesus died. The Bible describes supernatural events occurring at this time, including darkness falling over the land and an earthquake that split rocks and tore the curtain of the Temple.
Burial: After his death, Jesus’ body was taken down from the cross by Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus. They wrapped him in linen cloths with spices and laid him in a new tomb. one man sin, entered the world,
One man sin entered the world. Jesus knew no sin, became sin for the world. For anyone who receives Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. The forgiveness of sin, and to be made right in the sight of God. Jesus was the lamb that was slained on the cross for people to know and understand God in a personal way. What was wrong Jesus made it right, for those who want to know and understand the power of God’s amazing love and life.
Jesus Jesus died but yet the events don’t stop there. It’s more after the cross that people have forgotten. Without the resurrection of Jesus Christ there wouldn’t have been salvation. This probe that Jesus by God’s power rose from the dead. To bring life to many and eternal life to humanity. We must believe and receive this holy truth.
