A new way of thinking

A word for today

Galatians 5:1
King James Version
5 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

2 Corinthians 3:17
King James Version
17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

1 Peter 2:16
New International Version
16 Live as free people, but do not use your freedom as a cover-up for evil; live as God’s slaves.

What is spiritual liberty?  When a person abandons his or her carnal nature and allows Christ to become the Lord and Master of their life. It came with  a price the price was Jesus Christ’s death on the cross.  We are dedited to God because our life is now in him. We are after the spiritual things in life. Not focus on the carnal or worldly things.

Do you ever wonder what are the spiritual things we are entitled to. One thing is our walk with God.  God has entitled the believers to walk and talk with him. Not just prayer but communicating through the scriptures and listening to his audible voice.

Second we are victorious in him. The healing power we have through him. Just by asking and receiving by faith our healing. Victory over all things in life if we have faith in him.

Third is our spiritual gifts he has given us. It leads us into a pathway of service towards God. Many people have been blessed to have spiritual gifts. How they use it is another matter. Many gifted and talented people started out in church. Their choice leads them to either say within the church or going into the secular world. We can condemn them because of their choices, God will be the judge over their lives. Those who stay within the church and use their God given abilities, are encouraging others to live for God and stay the course.

You see when a person accepts Christ, it is one of the best choices they can make. Yet one must also know how to live a life in their new relationship with God. Yes it’s all about a relationship with God and not being religious. We come to Christ as we are. The main reason is because of God changing us into his likeness. Meaning we can develop a strong relationship with God, because we now have come into his family. Many don’t understand how that is possible. Just as a family adopts a child and that child had all rights to the family. So it is with our new relationship with God. we are now heirs with God and co-heirs with Jesus Christ. We share in the things of God.

How do we continue in that relationship. We spend time with God each day. Just like new lovers, they spend time together to get to know each other. Since God already knows you, this means your chance to know God and Jesus better each and everyday. We grow in the things of God by reading and studying the word, pray, and have a conversation with God. When we do those things we are growing in him.

We will have people that will dislike us because of our faith in God. Don’t let that get to you. Jesus himself had people that disliked him. People hated Jesus so much that they wanted Jesus to die. This was all in God’s plan to bring salvation to the world. Jesus died for the world to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Jesus our redeemer, savior, Lord of all, his death on the cross open up the way to get back with God.

As one accepts Jesus there should be a new birth that is upon you. You feel new, you feel more alive. You have this new found freedom in Jesus Christ.

God has given all of us the chance to follow him. Surrender our life over to Jesus Christ and God. Not desire the things in this world but having the hope and life that Jesus gives.
