Today scriptures will be taken from Psalm 119:97-106
This passage emphasizes the importance of meditating on God’s Word day and night. It describes how God’s teachings provide wisdom, guidance, and protection, leading to a life aligned with His will.
Let’s look at this to see how we can continue to be alive to God in this year and years to come.
Psalm 119:97-106 KJV
[97] O how love I thy law! It is my meditation all the day. [98] Thou through thy commandments hast made me wiser than mine enemies: For they are ever with me. [99] I have more understanding than all my teachers: For thy testimonies are my meditation. [100] I understand more than the ancients, Because I keep thy precepts. [101] I have refrained my feet from every evil way, That I might keep thy word. [102] I have not departed From thy judgments: For thou hast taught me. [103] How sweet are thy words unto my taste! Yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth! [104] Through thy precepts I get understanding: Therefore I hate every false way. [105] Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, And a light unto my path. [106] I have sworn, and I will perform it, That I will keep thy righteous judgments.
To be alive to God we need to understand concepts within the scriptures. These concepts involve a personal motivation of service to God. If we don’t have the love of God within how can we be alive to him. What really motivated us to do anything? It is our heart’s desire. With God it should be our heart’s desire to study the scriptures. We learn about the sovereignty of God in the Old Testament. In the New Testament we learn about his grace and mercy. The Bible teaches us about God being a loving heavenly father who cares for those who understand his ways.
We are moving into this teaching to understand the mindset to have in order to be alive to God 24 hours each day and 7 days a week. We begin today by looking at points of getting on the track to move into a relationship with God. With that relationship with God we can continue to be alive with him.
Points taken this week will be such as meditating on the word. Learn what God is saying or his commands to help us each and everyday. When we do this we grow deeper in a relationship with God. We learn how to keep our feet from doing evil because our focus is being alive to God and not doing evil.
As we live our life closer to God we move into understanding how sweet the words are from the lips of God. The scriptures are God’s breath and help us walk in the light of God. It keeps us in the pathway of righteousness.
By knowing all of this we can move into the mindset of living for God and being a conqueror in Jesus Christ. Being alive unto God through the Holy Spirit that dwells within us. As we Act. Believe, and Commit these truths in our lives, what better way than knowing we can continue to be alive unto God for now and forever.
