We interrupted our normal news broadcast to let you know that Givinhope Evangelistic Ministry will continue with the subject fasting tomorrow. The topic today is on surrendering. What does it mean to surrender.
To surrender is to turn over or submit. When a person is arrested he or she surrenders their rights to authorities. The person is now subject to the authorities rights and rules.
When we become a follower of Jesus Christ or born again our life has changed. We are no longer under the authority of this world but under God’s authority. Jesus Christ paid the price on Calvary. We now are governed by God’s rules and regulations. It God who we obey and listen to.
The bible is a guide line to live by. Understanding God’s principles and his love for us. The life we are now living belongs to God. To surrender to God means living our life in obedience, worship and honor the one who has given us the power to know him personally. We no longer belong to ourselves because we are now his children and his ownership to us, helps us to maintain a peaceful relationship with him.
We surrendered to his authority because he created us and loved us so. There was a need in our life for spiritual growth and understanding. This helps us to see things from a perspective that is more than the world could imagine.
The Information that was given today is not even a standard the world can’t understand. We surrender to God for greater purpose and greater works into the kingdom of God. Our life isn’t confined to a cell, to be locked up but into a place of freedom in nature and understanding of God. We do this but the leading of the Holy Spirit that empowers us for ministering work.
The ministering work is not just to preach the word but to minister to others so they can receive the blessing of God in their lives. Surrender to God, draw nigh unto him and praise his holy name.
