The Holy Spirit within our spiritual life is for every believer in Jesus Christ. There are many passages that support the facts the Holy Spirit empowers those who are in Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 3:16-17 KJV
[16] Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? [17] If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.
The second passage is from The book of Acts chapter 2:38.
Acts 2:38 KJV
[38] Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
The three take away from this passage is Repent, be baptized and the gift of the Holy Spirit. The focus from this passage of scripture reflects on our subject today. We are looking into the fact our responsibility that involves the HOLY SPIRIT.
Knowing God and Jesus Christ isn’t the end of the Christian faith. What should be within our lives is the power of the Holy Spirit directing and leading us in the pathway of righteousness. Jesus told his disciples about the Comforter. We call the comforter the Holy Spirit. What is our spiritual responsibility of the Holy Spirit. What purpose does the Holy Spirit serve us. We as believers, are the temple of God. Within this temple the Holy Spirit dwells.
The Holy Spirit being the last part of the Trinity, most people don’t realize the importance of that gift. Peter tells us in Acts 2:38 how the Holy Spirit comes to a person. Jesus was and still is God’s gift to the world for the remission of sin. Jesus himself told his disciples about the comforter plan and purpose. You will find all of this in chapter 14 in the book of John.
We will be doing a study on the Holy Spirit coming soon. Today’s topic is our responsibility in dealing with the Holy Spirit. We will receive, the Holy Spirit dwells in us. Our responsibility in this light is to know the driving force behind our relationship with God. God gives us the knowledge of him. He works in our lives to let Jesus Christ come in to be the Lord and Savior of our lives. The power of the Holy Spirit dwells in us. Since The Holy Spirit lives in us it empowers us to learn, to do, obey, God even more and it’s the fire that stirs up our soul.
Spiritual Responsibility we have in dealing with the Holy Spirit, is to know and understand its function. Let the Holy Spirit fill and baptize you, all the time. People don’t know the function of the Holy Spirit and they are left powerless. People stop at the belief of Jesus Christ and not move on into the power of the Holy Spirit. They think the comforter stopped on the day of Pentecost, but it’s still alive and being used in people today. P
To conclude for today not only did God send us a gift but Jesus did too. The gift of the Holy Spirit. In our everyday walk with God, never forget about the duties and function of the Holy Spirit. It is up to the believers to be responsible for knowing and seeking God’s truth on this matter. CONTINUE TO MOVE ON IN LEARNING AND UNDERSTANDING THE WAYS OF GOD, JESUS CHRIST AND THE HOLY SPIRIT
