Those who play tennis show us the ability to be strong. The normal tennis match could be an hour or more. There is no time frame on a given match. For the men they play the best out of 5 sets. Whereas women play the best out of 3 sets. Both women and men display power and strength within their matches. The word strong means to endure, or to have the power to withstand. Taken a listen from tennis players they need to train their entire body for the match. The need to focus on what is before them. After the matches are done the victory goes to the one that was able to stand and be strong. They are rewarded after the match with the Wimbledon trophy. Have the power with us to stand and never quit. Athletes train in order to win, are we training by reading and studying the word of God.
Hebrews 12:1-3 KJV
[1] Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, [2] looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. [3] For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.
We have something to do in our christian walk. It is to endure. Last until the end, never faint or falter. We should never give up on the christian race. We are stronger and more powerful than we think. A sports player doesn’t just go into the game without practicing. They train their body, they work out in order to gain the prize.
When we do things for God do it with the love of the father, do it with the leading of the Holy Spirit, most of all do it in the name of Jesus Christ. We endure this life in Jesus Christ by faith in him. We train in such a way when the enemy comes against us we already have prepared for the battle. From praying to witnessing, from witnessing to reading and meditating on the Word. Fellowshipping with one another. As we continue in this Christian race those things give us the power to endure until the end.
The power to endure is to have patience, character, disciple, and build our strength in the Lord. A sports player plays to win. Are we in this Christian race to win or are we just doing whatever to get by. Run in this race, and if you aren’t the fastest runner, never give up because you need to cross the finished line in style.
When we return it’s about having people beside us, a mentor or a spiritual leader to train us for the Christian race. Until then Givin H.O.P.E Evangelistic Ministry likes to say have a great day and God bless
