Yesterday we talked about people at a young age, they learn to obey. They are taught to listen to instruction or do a specific task. We also mentioned how some people never learn to obey. Why is it hard for a person to obey. We are going into that topic today.
Why are some people disobedient. I recall my grandmother used to call people hard headed or stubborn. The reason why she said this is because some folks would never listen or do what they were asked to do. Why do people continue to act this way. 3 points to look at and they are
1. They don’t like to be told. They feel obligated to not be controlled by another person. They feel they are in control of themselves. People have said I am a grown man nobody tells me what and how to do things. This is a wrong mindset, people feel they are entitled not to listen to the authority figure in their life.
2. feel as if they are above people. Why should I do what you ask aren’t you younger than me. We found this out with Joseph and his brother in the book of Genesis. Joseph was the youngest, he had a gift to interpret dreams. When he told a specific dream to his brother they couldn’t face the fact what he told them. They felt since he was the younger brother and his father’s favorite they were mad and felt like they had more knowledge and understanding than Joseph.
3. People feel like they know it all. What is the point in doing it your way, why not mine. Why, What and when is what you get when a person feels like they are mister know it all. The bible tells us about people like this. They are full of conceit and pride. Being a mister knows it all is a person whose walls could be coming down if they meet the wrong person. There could be a person, that feels you are lower than them.
Today’s writing is to get your mind thinking of the type of people who could be disobedient. why are they disobedient. Tomorrow we will explore the mind of a person who obeys and listens.
