The word learn means gain or acquire knowledge of or skill in (something) by study, experience, or being taught.
We said yesterday the first thing about learning is how we learn. We are taught by mentors, teachers, tutors, and leaders of the Church. When it comes down to the spiritual things in life, people should be taught by people who can rightly divide the word of God. Giving instruction on growing in God.
The first part of how we learn is one on one. The second type of learning is self-learned. People go out and start learning and seeking knowledge on their own.
I have seen people over the years have gained knowledge for themselves. Yes they have been taught by others yet they keep searching for the truth and more understanding. This is how it should be as we grow in Jesus Christ. People need to be motivated to seek the truth of God’s kingdom. When people do this they can now grow in the favor of God and understand the true meaning of being a follower of Jesus Christ.
Self taught can be seen as spending time in the word of God or a quiet time. Time is set aside to really explore the Christian way of living. Each person has his or her ways of learning. People could have reference books, study guides, along with the bible to grow and continue to mature in God’s Kingdom.
Self taught is continual. We learn from different things in life. We learn how to maintain a balance in life. We learn how to live with each other despite the difference.
A moment in time we learned how to go to school, yet it wasn’t by our own doing but it was a condition that people followed. We knew as we went to school, we will gain the knowledge and skills we needed to operate in the society we live in. Unfortunately people quit school for unforeseen events or life trauma. Yet they continued on in life.
Within our spiritual life there should be a desire to grow in God. It shouldn’t be a push or a force to learn, but a motivation factor out of love for God’s kingdom. A longing to learn, a compassion to grow into a deeper relationship with God.
What is the factor behind why some want to learn and others don’t. I do think it’s the environment, family, friends, and their spiritual upbringing. Could it be also the amount of faith and belief in God. Whatever it is people need to grow in God everyday. They do this by what has already been said.
Tomorrow it’s about being taught by God. Look into How God teaches us everyday and we don’t realize it.
Look into Luke 18:11-15 and see for yourself how the Word of God is sown and the type of people it reaches. We can teach and preach to people but unless it is sown on good ground and touches their life it will grow.
Let’s be reminded of this. Our posting is just to get you thinking and moving forward in the things of God. We are at Givin H.O.P.E. Evangelistic Ministry. Bringing forth God’s truth and understanding for the entire world
