A MOMENT IN TIME: HELD UP AT GUNPOINT

Today’s real life story is about two separate events. These events weren’t  job related, but normal day activities a person might do. They both have a similar theme so I put both together for this reason.

These words were spoken to me years ago and to this day I have never forgotten them. NEVER EVER LET THEM SEE YOU SWEAT.

When it comes to encounters try not to let the other person see you being nervous. This could open doors to other situations along the way.

Today’s moment in time is about God’s providential care.  God did protected me in both encounters. First being, at a bank as it was being robbed. The second was being a good friend at the wrong time.

It started off as a good day. I had to swing by the bank for something and I thought like everyone else that day I could be in and out in no time. This was the wrong day to think about doing that. I went into the bank as normal. I noticed there was a line of people so i waited patiently for my turn. I really didn’t notice anything out of place. There was a woman in front of me and a man in front of her. When the man left it was a little motion. Few moments later we were all told the bank just got robbed.

This moment in time could have taken a different turn if people had reacted differently.  That day I went from one reality to a different reality.  I only went to the bank for a simple transaction that would have taken 15 -20 minutes.  The doors were locked and the only people allowed in were the police.  Overall i was there a total of 1 extra hour to answer  questions the police were asking.

After all was said and done i realize life can be tricky at times.  Just have to take one moment in time and let it just ride out. All I know,  God’s grace and mercy was with me that day as always.

The second situation was when I was held up at gunpoint.  How would you handle a situation like the one I had faced. I wasn’t like i was walking down the street and people jumped and then robbed me. I was set up by a friend to pay his debt that he owed to other people.

It was a friday and I had the entire day off. A so-called friend knew i had that day off.  He wanted to hang out with me, but normally when I asked him to come over and chill out for a few, he never had time.  I went over to his place and we talked for a few and we headed out.  He asked me to take him over to some friends house for a few  seconds. Since his friend’s house was in the same direction I was headed, i said no problem.

I thought i was doing a good deed for a friend but it backfired in my face.  When a person is striving  to succeed,  here  comes this other person to make them fall. This friend used me to get what he needed.  He came back to the car with two other people.  This time the two guys got into the back  set and told me this.

Do as we tell you because there is a gun pointing into your back.  Drive to the closest ATM machine and withdraw 200.00 .  Don’t ask any questions just do it.  I drove off , went to the atm machine and did as they instructed me to do.  Let’s say I told my so-called friend ,  I  never wanted to be around or associate with him again.

These two moments in time taught me a lot about life and people.  It also shows me God’s protective hands according to psalms 91.  God is my protector and will shield me from the danger of the enemy.  Mostly from the second situation, I had to remain calm, and cool. I was really  nervous at this time , but i couldn’t let them know how nervous and afraid i was.

This was a moment in time a reflection of God’s providential care. He watched over me in many situations but those two events left a mark on me, although it was just a moment in time.  When we really trust in God, the truth one day will come to light.  We thank God for letting us get out of that situation without any hurt or harm.

True stories to let people know that  Psalms 91 is real and God’s Word is true.
