An everlasting friendship. WEEKEND EDITION

A real friendship between DAVID AND JONATHAN can be seen in 1 Samuel chapter 18 and then on. Their souls, connected to each other once they saw each other. A divine connection, what was meant to be will be.

David loved Jonathon as a great friend. They made an oath, and it was to care for each other’s children if one would die before the other.

That is why it was an everlasting friendship. It went beyond death or the grave. Lots of truths about David and the love he had for his friend and his household.

David, a man after the heart of God, wanted to keep the promise he made with Jonathon. He ask if there were any people left from the house of Saul. They said a man called Mephibosheth, he was lame since the age of 5. This was the time he lost his father, uncles, and Grandfather because of the war.

David went and got him. He was a part of the royal family with David and his family. This was all because of the relationship David had with Jonathon and the oath they made between each other.

Next weekend is looking at Mephibosheth’s life as a whole from the age of 5 until the end of the biblical account of his life. What was so unique about the events that surrounded his life. was it all about loyalty, trust, honor, respect and restoration that we simply forget about.

David action in it all he was a man of his word when it came to Jonathon. He was able to make Mephibosheth feel alright within his place.

To apply all these things into perspective it shows the characteristics of God within a human life. The Events of David and Mephibosheth show how God can welcome us into his family. People look at it as coming out of and into, but there is lots more to the event than meets the eyes. It reflects the love of God, the power of restoration and a faithfulness that goes beyond us.

Let God love on us. Let his mercy and grace be upon your life. Whatever you have been through and need help, just step aside and allow God to help you out. Again with David, Jonathon, and Mephibosheth, it is all about love, honor, trust and restoration. Go with God and be blessed.
