How many of us are living without a plan or purpose. We just go on day by day and say whatever comes my way it was meant to be. That is the wrong idea to take. Within the Holy Scriptures it states
Where there is no vision, the people perish: But he that keepeth the law, happy is he.
Proverbs 29:18 KJV
To define the word vision it is the state of being able to see. It includes the fact of the ability to plan out the future with imagination and wisdom. The most important part of vision is to see something in a dream that will awaken your inner man to a point that you believe or know it could happen.
What is your vision or plan in life. Do you have one? Are you one of thousands who don’t even care about a vision or plan for your life. The scripture says people perish when there is no vision. No vision to what? Is it a vision to know and understand the things of God. Is The vision a goal in life that a person wants to achieve.
Why don’t people have a vision in life. We have talked about the family unit, we have talked about being a professing and possessing believer in Jesus Christ. Do you have a vision on how to manage these things.
We all have vision of something but what is your motivation factor behind it. Can it be done or is the task too big for me? Beside that point the main focus today is why don’t some people have a vision. The main purpose is they want to do as they please and not to think about life in general.
Children have plans to graduate high school, but others don’t bother with it. They just go on day by day and say when that day comes it will come. No longer will I have to be bothered with school work any longer. They don’t think school is preparing them for a way to focus on life after graduation.
School vision is to teach and learn the student of a daily routine life schedule. When a person gets into the work force they begin to have the same routine pattern of school. Without understanding and seeing this people miss the mark. In other words they could fall by the wayside and die.
Don’t get me wrong people can live without a vision but will their life be of value or worth. When a person has a vision they see a direction they want to get to. Within that vision they need a plan to get there. With getting there they need to be motivated. You can’t get to your vision unless you have motivation behind it.
Will people be hopeless without a plan or a vision in life. All I know is what the word of God says. Where there is no vision, the people perish. They will die spiritually and physically. Without a vision or understanding in life people are just living to fulfil what? So many examples go through my mind as it relates to a job experience I had a long time ago.
My main goal for working in a restaurant was to be a waiter and one day become a manager. I said I know I was able to wait tables. Was I capable of being a manager. The aim and goal was there, plus the vision was there also but how do I go about achieving that desire goal. I was told if you work smart, take pride in what you are doing people will notice, if they care enough about you.
Over time I became that waiter, then the assistant manager. With all I learn to be the best I could be. Be proud of those things in which I have achieved. The focus was to put God first and never doubt. It might take a short time or a long time to reach that goal but if we put God first then dreams, vision and goals can be set.
People might say to me John it seemed like you had a plan from the beginning of time and you knew what you wanted in life. This wasn’t the case. I had no vision on what I wanted to do. I was living a sheltered life, because of the situation I was facing. Living without a plan wasn’t easy. I went through the day wondering what is in life for me. I just took one day at a time not knowing where the road of life would take me to.
For those who are going through this, I know it’s rough and you don’t understand why. Once you see it clearly it can turn around for you. Vision is something you need to see for yourself. Nobody can see it for you. Pray asking God to reveal it to you. To have a real come to Jesus moment, understand what God really wants you to do in life is the real life changing moment there is.
Keep in mind as we follow God and his ways, he can help us to see clearer. No more looking through a dark glass window and wondering what my life is about. With God he gives us purpose and life. Meaning we will understand his perfect and wonderful plan for our lives. A plan to succeed and prosper. Let’s start living out that vision or plan. Make a plan or vision for your life and it starts by knowing Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord.
