There was a song called deeper love by Aretha Franklin. There was another song called I want to take you higher by sly stone. Today’s message is to go higher in the Lord, when you do, it will make you have a deeper love for Jesus and God.

Our love for God and Jesus will take us higher in him. Both songs give us a sense of knowing and understanding our relationship with God and Jesus.

When a person receives Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, there should be a place within their heart or a determination to walk with the Lord. The love and a new life in Jesus Christ will want a person to grow in God. When a person grows in a deeper love they know it will only take them higher in the things of God.

Each person that comes to God can and should build a relationship with him. Reading and understanding the Holy Scriptures will help us to do this. For myself I came to a conclusion. The conclusion is this, God wants me to grow in him, as I am growing, I am getting to the place I need to be in him. Each learning experience in Jesus Christ points me into the next level in Jesus Christ and God.

What is the motivation factor in all that I am doing for God. It is his love. His love for the world. Men are evil and wicked but God gives us all the chance to change. He love was and still strong today.

Why do people have a deeper love for God and Jesus than other people. They realize the power of God and Jesus. God is Almighty. Jesus has all authority. The Holy Spirit leads and guides a person in all truths. People understand this concept and since they saw what God has done over the years, then they have a deeper love and that love will make them go higher in the things of God.

A lesson learned is this, a person may be on a bus just traveling, heading to their destination. Another person is on the same bus just going with no plan and purpose. Wherever the bus stops that is the place he or she is going. They might not have a plan but they have a place to go to. No matter if they had a plan or not they are heading somewhere.

I will talk about a person without a plan tomorrow. Today when we see the person who is traveling and their plan is all laid out, they have in mind the place they need to be. So when we walk and talk with God, it also should be the same. Our mind is on target, our mind is focused on the things of God.

For the believers in Christ we all have a position in Christ. We need to be aware of it. We need to follow the things that God has put before us. One person said you have to have a well-made up mind to reach your goal in life. So as it is with God, as we continue to have this deeper love for God and we will continue to go higher in him. Each time we go higher in God he reveals more truth and understanding of who he is and what he wants from us.

Go higher in God, have a deeper love for God, by doing you you will experience life, in what the Bible called freedom, and joy. Your freedom is no longer bound to the slave mentality of sin but the righteousness of God and leading of the Holy Spirit.
