This month is dedicated to stewardship. Understanding our roles in being good steward over the things we have both spiritual and non-spiritual.
This week it’s about stewardship in our relationship to God. Being a believer in Christ we need to be good steward. How are we good stewards. We are good stewards by helping those who are weak in their faith. We have an obligation to build them up and not to rip them apart because they haven’t gotten a few concept of Thier life in Christ.
We have been called to train and teach, making disciples of others. This is one of many ways of being a good steward. Helping out other in a way that is God sent. Not boasting on self but giving God the praise..
This leads to the second part of stewardship. How do we glorify God. Part of being a faithful steward is our service toward God. Giving him the glory and seeing him as God Almighty. Let’s now look into Romans chapter 15 and see what the word has for us today.
Wherefore receive ye one another, as Christ also received us to the glory of God. Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers: and that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy; as it is written, For this cause I will confess to thee among the Gentiles, And sing unto thy name. And again he saith, Rejoice, ye Gentiles, with his people. And again, Praise the Lord, all ye Gentiles; And laud him, all ye people. And again, Esaias saith, There shall be a root of Jesse, And he that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; In him shall the Gentiles trust. Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.
Romans 15:7-13 KJV
From the previous verses 1-6 it was dealing with the strong should help the weaker Christian to become stronger. In doing so teaching them the word of God. The word has power and instructions. Once the weak are stronger we can all glorify God in a truthful way. As we are stewards to the things of God, we also have to care for each other. Verse 7 states receive each other, as Christ Christ has received us.
How do we go about doing this? We do this in love. As we know God is love. Being good steward in God we will do as we are directed and care for those things God has given us. By God’s glory we need to received each other. Everything at this point is to give God the glory. There are ways in how to give God the glory and the scriptures spells it out..
Glorify God as good steward because of God’s mercy. How do we go about glorifying the God?. In a song, rejoicing in God, giving God the praise. Why is this important. This concept is important because of what God has done.
He sent his sin Jesus Christ into the world to bring people hope. The hope is already in God the scriptures says Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost
Being a good steward in God is about understanding and caring of what God has given us and how are we going to handle those things. Most of all to realize what living for Christ is all about within your life.
In our life with God and believing in Jesus Christ it’s about being filled with joy and peace that comes from believing in God. God is our hope and in hope we can find the truth of God. Being a steward of God we can continue in that hope which God has given us, this is done through the power of the Holy Ghost.
What is the message for today. Being a good steward of the things of God goes beyond what we have it also deals with other and the things of God. As good stewards of God there is a way of doing things. Things should be done in order for God to get the glory. There is a difference between God getting the credit and God receiving the glory. God getting the credit could come from the lips in and way it’s just words. With God being glorified it is coming from a total different concept. It is an acknowledgement of what God has done coming from your spiritual soul, heart, and mind.
Know this truth as good stewards in God it comes with praise and glorifying God because of what’s he has done and not us. Praise him and give God the glory in all we do and says
