What is the final message Paul has for us in this chapter. The message was the people of Israel saw the hand of God moved, but yet they disobeyed and had a contrary spirit.
But I say, have they not heard? Yes indeed: “Their sound has gone out to all the earth, And their words to the ends of the world.” But I say, did Israel not know? First Moses says: “I will provoke you to jealousy by those who are not a nation, I will move you to anger by a foolish nation.” But Isaiah is very bold and says: “I was found by those who did not seek Me; I was made manifest to those who did not ask for Me.” But to Israel he says: “All day long I have stretched out My hands To a disobedient and contrary people.”
Romans 10:18-21 NKJV
God said I was with the nation of Israel. All day long God was with them. Yet they didn’t seek God.
Paul writes here about God’s response to Israel as a nation. Like stated above, the people were disobedient towards God and had a contrary spirit. How did God deal with them. He still showed them love and compassion.
Paul started this chapter about being saved. The act of being saved. Starts off by believing in the heart, and then confess with your mouth that God raised Jesus Christ from the dead and you shall be saved.
He than asked the question how can you believe if you haven’t heard. How can you call on God if you don’t believe. The concept of this is many call on God but don’t have the faith in him. It’s s force of habit. They don’t allow God to be a part of their life until disaster hits.
Preachers do your job. Preach the word so people can believe in Jesus Christ. Paul said he preached the word because of Jesus Christ. Salvation comes through no other than Jesus Christ.
We come to the final part as we see Paul talking about the nation Israel. They saw God moving yet some didn’t believe. Some were disobedient towards God and they had a contrary spirit. Yet God still provided for them.
The same thing Paul was speaking about we can see it within today’s society. Many people who believe in God don’t obey him like they should. They feel as if they can do anything they want to do with no regards to God. Even some believers have a negative spirit about them. They are always thinking negative and not looking on the bright side of things. People have seen God work in their lives but their faith level is still weak.
Finally to become stronger in our faith and understand the things of God, one needs to get back to basics. Develop a relationship with God, study the word, pray, worship and rely on God to guide you into his truth.
