Paul’s heart for Israel to be saved

In chapter 10 of the book Paul wrote to those in Rome is dealing with salvation. How do a person obtaining salvation. This week we will learn, what it takes for a person to obtain salvation.

Also be looking into this chapter, with supporting scriptures to see how Paul had dealt with the personal encounter with Jesus Christ. How he knows what he was doing was God sent.

The last few days we will be talking about Israel, as a nation rejection of God and also people rejection of God. Why is it important for who God called to preach the gospel truth across the land.

Today is December 12 and here is our daily devotion. A heart of Paul for the nation of Israel.

Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they may be saved. For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.
Romans 10:1‭-‬4 NKJV

What is the first thing Paul was letting them know about Israel. It was his desire and prayer to God for Israel to be saved. Saved from what? The fact they would come to know the new law. Come to know about God’s saving grace because of Jesus Christ and him being crucified on the cross. Paul knew they had a zeal for God, but they didn’t know or yet comprehend the righteousness that God was offering in that present age.

Paul continued to say Israel, trying to find their own way of being righteous, yet not looking at what God has already established because of Jesus Christ. Paul is also saying they didn’t submit to God’s righteousness. I do believe they were holding on to the laws God gave Moses. Yet not considering the new way of living within that new law of grace. The law of grace only God can give.

Jesus Christ is our source he came not to do away with the law but to fulfill the law. The law was always about our relationship with God. God’s instructions on how Israel should conduct themselves because they were a Holy nation unto God. So being God’s chosen people, God gave them rules to be governed by. They had to behave in a holy way because God is Holy

Within the world we live in believers can live a holy life because of the Holy Spirit, Spirit of Christ with us, and the Spirit of God living in us. We are a holy vessel that God uses for his purpose and plan. Those who are saved, have the power of God within them to do great work for his kingdom while on earth. Just take a page from Paul’s life. Jesus came to him, he gave Paul the instructions to do the work Jesus called him to do. Paul did that work regardless of the obstacles he had to face.

The main focus point about today’s lesson is we all need to come into the saving knowledge of God. Just doing good or acting good doesn’t work. We all need to be made righteous. We are made righteous by our faith in God through the blood of Jesus Christ. As we will see later in this chapter on how one becomes saved.

There are many things I haven’t mentioned within our lesson but to hear the total message of today it will be posted on Facebook.com after 7am. Link to follow, will be updated at that time.
