Who is over all.

When we think about the order of things, we can conclude there is a chain of command. On a specific job, there is the employee. The employee goes to their manager , the manager goes to the owner, the owner goes to the CEO. You see there are chains of command to follow in every organization. People don’t like it when that chain of command isn’t followed.

Today we are looking into Romans chapter 9 to see what Paul is telling the believers in Rome. TOPIC TO DAY IS WHO IS OVER ALL.

I tell the truth in Christ, I am not lying, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Spirit, that I have great sorrow and continual grief in my heart. For I could wish that I myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my countrymen according to the flesh, who are Israelites, to whom pertain the adoption, the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the service of God, and the promises; of whom are the fathers and from whom, according to the flesh, Christ came, who is over all, the eternally blessed God. Amen.
Romans 9:1‭-‬5 NKJV

The last statement Paul made says it all. Who is over all. The eternally blessed God. He is over all. This was to let those in Rome and us today, no matter what you face in life remember God is over all.

Do you know when a person is in the court of law, they are sworn to tell the truth. The first thing Paul said to defend his actions and his ways was to tell the people, he is telling the truth in Christ.

Three people are mentioned in the above text. The Holy Spirit, Jesus Christ, and God. Why did Paul mention them. It was to let people know its wasn’t about him but all about God and His overall order of things.

What did the Holy Spirit do in Paul’s life. The Holy Spirit bears witness in Paul’s heart. This hurt me in my flesh nature to do what I am doing for Jesus Christ. If I could give up or not be associated with Jesus Christ, it would be better for me and for others. Yet he continued to do so much more for Jesus Christ because it was ordered by God for Paul to do it.

What did Jesus Christ do within Paul’s life. Jesus Christ came to give us salvation. He just reminded the believers the purpose of their identity. Paul was referring to the believers, the same concept that happened in the Israelites camp. The word adoption shows up again. Just as many back with the camp of the Israelites. Some people were graphed into the camp and became part of the nation

The reason why Paul said what he did was to let people know, why Christ can, to whom Christ came, by who authority Jesus Christ came. We see the reason why Christ came and that was to change or bring people into the adoption state of God. We weren’t God’s people, but because people rejected Jesus Christ, God decided to bring about salvation to the entire world. The law given was only rules to govern their lives by to know and understand God’s purpose and plan. Jesus Christ came to fulfill the law. The law to restore us back into God.

God is over all. Jesus Christ had to follow God’s plan for his life and the world. This shows us that God is Almighty and that God himself has it all in control. It’s up to the person to respond to God’s authority or not. As we did respond to the things of God. He is well pleased because we are listening to him out of love.

Today we like to welcome all to our study I pray it will help us make it through. Givinhope Evangelistic Ministry with minister John Corum
