We have gone past the time to talk about Romans 8. We are in overtime. Today’s truth will cause things to happen in your life if you apply the principle Paul set out in these verses
What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written: “For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.” Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:31-39 NKJV
What do we see in the scripture that really gets us stirred up within our spirit. There are key points into today teaching about God, our life towards him , and the victory we have that comes from knowing and loving God.
Point one. If God is for us who can be against us. Again Paul is addressing those in Rome. Remember the period of time this was written, and the thing the believers were going through. They might have seemed to have lost hope but God was with them. Even when the enemy may come against us God is able to let the enemy flee. Therefore God is in total power of things when the world is saying you are guilty God is saying you have been cleared of all charges.
The second point is God has proven his love towards us by sending his son into the world to redeem those who believe in him. Jesus is more than a savior, he is an intercessor on our behalf. Just looking at the scripture brings hope to us in knowing beyond the cross Jesus is still interceding for us in heaven . He is pleading our case to God .
We see God is for us, Jesus is pleading our case, and yet people don’t understand the victory we have in Jesus Christ. Paul states a lot in the upcoming scripture.
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written: “For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.” Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us
Do you know we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. We are winners in God’s sight. We already won the battle. Paul had to remind them, you see you may have some things going on in your life. It may seem like you want to throw in the towels, but in God, the one who loves us and has given us so much, we are more than conquerors. This is what living for God is about knowing that God in situations we may face in life God is able to take a negative and turn it into a positive.
By knowing what was written in Romans chapter 8. The things that were addressed to them in Rome, we today can understand the following scriptures.
For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
In Paul’s final statement, he tells it like it is. Nothing can separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Not death nor life, not angels, not principalities, nor power, nor things present, nor things to come, height nor depth, nor any other created thing. Those things can’t separate us from God’s love.
Paul told them in Rome and us today nothing should distract us and take us away from the love we have for God. We are in Jesus and in him there is life. Do you know we started this chapter in knowing our relationship with God. In God we aren’t condemned, but as we live for God and know and understand his love for us. Knowing about our relationship to God, it gives us the understanding that we are victorious in God. We are overcomers. Being overcomers we know and understand our life is hidden in Jesus Christ. We share his love towards everyone so they can come and experience new life. A life full of hope and dreams because of what God will do for us and in us.
Finally now we have been through chapter 8 and tomorrow we will review the points said this week this concludes Romans chapter 8. . Form Givinhope Evangelistic Ministry with minister John Corum.
