Today we start a new teaching from Romans chapter 8. This chapter Paul was addressing to the people at Rome the important to know who you belong to and why. Let’s start today teaching.
There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.
Romans 8:1 NKJV
The first thing Paul has to clear up is to let them know people aren’t condemned if they follow after the things of Jesus Christ. The first principle to know is to walk according to the Spirit.
As we walk according to the Spirit we won’t desire the things of the flesh. As Christian believrs that is the number one thing we need to do. Why is this important is because of the following statement.
For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
Romans 8:2-8 NKJV
Because of the law of Spirit of life in Jesus Christ has made us free from the law of sin and death. Meaning believers has a new law to follow that law is in Jesus Christ. We are under new ownership and because of that we have the freedom over the penalty of sin and death. That is the spiritual separation between God and man.
People really don’t understand this concept of the believers life. The next principle is how to please God. When a person walk after the flesh there mind is stayed on the fleshing desire in life. Those things that is unrighteous in God. People who walk in the flesh don’t have the concept of God and don’t understand his ways or will.
Paul was further saying to please God is to walk in his ways. To live your life under the law of the Spirit of life in Jesus Christ. Notice what Paul was saying live your life under the law of Spirit of life.
Why is this important to know? It’s tells us that to please God is to walk in your newness of life. Craving the things of the Spirit. Knowing our life is in Christ and it’s a wonderful to know him as our savior and Lord.
The two principles today is how do we please God. One is to walk after the things of the spirit.. Second is to have the right mind set. When we are doing those things we don’t feel we need to be condemned. For we have pass from death into life because of Jesus Christ. No longer following the fleshly man but under the truth and understanding of God. To know God is to love him, and to love him is to live for him. He has given his son to the entire world foy everyone to be free.
Finally,. Know that believers carries a lot of God within them. They have a spirit of God living within, plus the Spirit of Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. Within the believers of Christ Jesus they capitalize the embodiment the trinity within their body.
