Walk in newness of life

We have begun a new week and a new chapter in Romans. Romans chapter 6. Each teaching is inspired by the Holy Spirit. Meaning what I am writing is not in my own but the power of God through the Holy Spirit. Let start today teaching.

There are many factors to man that people really don’t understand. The reason Paul address this in Rome, because of the newness of people getting saved, through Jesus Christ. Many came to believe, yet still being controlled by their sinful ways. Let’s look at the first few verses to see how Paul addresses the issue.

What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
Romans 6:1‭-‬4 NKJV

The main point is walk in newness of life. Many who come to Christ do t get this point. Why are we called out by God. We who are called out by God has a person in life. It’s to live for him. We are committed to him by his love and his son Christ who died on the cross.

Since Christ died, and God came to us, and we accepted him. It’s our obligation to live not under the power of sin, but under his rightousness. In John chapter 3 Jesus told Nicodemus unless you are born of the spirit and water you can’t enter the kingdom of God. Taking it for face value and what Paul was saying here, it the baptism into Christ.

Yes the water represents the washing or purifying us into Jesus Christ. Meaning we now have a connection to Christ. When we are baptized we not only making a public displaying of our faith, but we are united our being to the righteousness of God.

Many don’t know this concept or understand it. As we go into the pool, lake or ocean to be baptized. We are now saying Jesus because I believe in you, all that you did on the cross. I ded with you which is my sinful state of unrighteousness. My sinful or unrighteousness nature was buried with, as you was put into the tomb and was buried. Yet it didn’t stop there. When I was baptized I saw how it was and understand the meaning. As I was lifted up from the water, I dried but new life came to me. As God has raised Jesus up, he also has raised me up.

I may not have a glorified body yet, but my heart mind soul and spirit has been resurrected. I have the God conscience mind. I see the true meaning of life in God. That is what the newness of life is

The newness of life is the old nature is being done away with each day. Yet the righteousness nature is being made new each day. In other words we are putting on the new nature daily as we are dying to the old man. The purpose to the first few verses is to remind us. Believers in Christ our true commitment is to the righteousness of God. We shouldn’t let sin reign in our body to obey the lust thereof. Follow God, because we been redeemed by the blood of Christ.

Word to meditate on for today is baptized or baptism. As you study these words you will see clearly now in what Jesus said in the book of John chapter 3.

Remember, believers we been saved because of God’s grace. Don’t misuse out freedom in Christ to anything outside of God’s laws. Live that new life that is in Jesus Christ. Honor God and his truth
