Today is the final teaching on Romans chapter 5. Tomorrow will be a review plus a video recording on this chapter. What is today teaching about. Just a reminder God’s redemption power.
One thing about this chapter we learn a lot about God’s grace. Yet people don’t understand the believers responsibility after salvation. We can agree, God’s power of redemption is for everyone. Some will not take the gift of salvation freely. They don’t understand God’s love, their purpose, and the concept of redemption. Let’s see into today text about these truths.
Therefore, as through one man’s offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man’s righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life. For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous. Moreover the law entered that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more, so that as sin reigned in death, even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Romans 5:18-21 NKJV
How can we become justified into God’s righteousness. The concept is people don’t know they key elements if redemption. The key element is the power of forgiveness. Since Adam sinned, he brought judgement to all men. When we look at this we are all guilty in God’s sight at one time. Why? Because of one man disobedience. All are sinners, born into sin. Yet we all have a choice to follow God or continue to live as a sinner. How do we break this sin state that is on us. We do this by the way if the cross.
Like stated earlier this week, life is in Jesus Christ. He was obedient to what God called him to do. His actions caused man to become righteous. No more living a life slave to sin. Following after the things the unrighteous does, but following after God’s truth and plan. Second truth those who are believers in Christ Jesus is no longer bound to unrighteous, meaning as a new person in Jesus Christ you desire is to walk after the things of God. You no longer belong to yourself, but the things of God.
If you thing of a line it has a beginning but the line goes on for ever. When we are born it start the bloodline within you. Let say something happens and you die. Your life no longer exist, yet your eternal soul continue to live. Therefore you have a fleshly nature and a spirit man. The spirit man don’t really know and understand the things of God. The fleshly man do as we want and don’t care. When we seen a person life line that of it as this. When a person receive Jesus Christ the fleshly nature or the unrighteous man or state is done away with. A new lifeline has become. New life in Jesus Christ. This is know as being born again. You mind is now open and suspect to the things of God. The Holy Spirit will guide you into God’s truth. By having time set aside to meditate on the word you will come into more truth about God.
God grace in action is this. Do we deserve his grace. His unmerited favor over our lives, because of our unrighteous state.?. God love prove to the entire world, no matter what we have done before salvation, God will forgive us from it. The condition is we must confess it to God and ask God to forgive us. It doesn’t mean we have the right to sin and keep on sinning the same sin. It’s gives us the right to move forward and to develope a relationship with God. In that love relationship, we want to do become holy, since God is holy. Will we ever get to a total mature state in Christ? The answer is not up to me to decide but only between God and the individual person.
Finally the take away to all this is, God has given grace to everyone who freely receive it. It put things back in order between that person and God. It is the power of forgiveness, restoration, justification, sanctification, and all of this was done because of Christ death on the cross. To those who receive Jesus Christ as their savior and Lord, has now been through the act of purification. Meaning we no longer are slave to sin nature but walk after the things of God and we been set apart.
Let the truth be made known our life is hidden in Christ and this has been givinhope Evangelistic Ministry minister John Corum.
