When faith is put to the test

Since we talked about faith yesterday I just want to clear things up. The faith about yesterday is the belief we have in God. There are many faith base Christian churches out there, but the truth is how they worship is that organization. They have the right to practice how they view the scripture. When it comes down to it all, their faith is in God who is the creator of us all.

Daniel was face with a situation. The situation was to defile himself with the kings food or obey the Lord himself. This is how David viewed the situation.

But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s delicacies, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the chief of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself. Now God had brought Daniel into the favor and goodwill of the chief of the eunuchs. And the chief of the eunuchs said to Daniel, “I fear my Lord the king, who has appointed your food and drink. For why should he see your faces looking worse than the young men who are your age? Then you would endanger my head before the king.” So Daniel said to the steward whom the chief of the eunuchs had set over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, “Please test your servants for ten days, and let them give us vegetables to eat and water to drink. Then let our appearance be examined before you, and the appearance of the young men who eat the portion of the king’s delicacies; and as you see fit, so deal with your servants.” So he consented with them in this matter, and tested them ten days.
Daniel 1:8‭-‬14 NKJV

How did Daniel assessed the situation? His view point also had an effect on the other 3 Hebrew boys. The main purpose was about defiling his body with the kings food. Daniel told this, look here we don’t want to eat from the kings table. Give us ten days and we will prove to you that God is able to see us through. They approved of the agreement for Daniel and the three Hebrew boys, they only ate vegetables and drunk water for ten days.

Tomorrow we will bring you the results. Today was about knowing right and wrong in doing the commands of the Lord. Daniel didn’t know what the results would be after those ten days. He trusted God to help him out during this ten days.

It’s not about what you eat it’s about doing as they the Lord God has commanded us to do. Daniel, himself understood within his heart he didn’t want to defile himself with the kings food.

The final out take from today message is trust God in everything. If you feel in your heart and you know it’s not what the Lord requires from you, don’t do it. Daniel loved God and he knew that once he follow the command of the king, he will be going against Gods commands. Remember the rules for the Israelites was totally different from the Gentiles. Daniel faith was put to the test and what happened next the results will be talked about tomorrow.
