How are we justified in God? In other words how are we restored to God. Can just bring good justifies us to God. Are we righteous by following the law of Moses? Meaning following the ten commandments can we be made righteous unto God.
Before Jesus death on the cross people was counted righteous and was justified by their faith in God. It wasn’t their works and the things people did out of tradition, as they served God.
This was more of a faith walk with God. Even if man sin God would forgive them but not in the way we know of it today. They had to do certain things inorder for their sins would be forgiven.
This was done on a daily basis, and for some they would wait for the day of atonement. A day set aside for all of Israel sins would be forgiven. God knew and understood man and his ways.
In Romans chapter 4 it tell us about king David for it reads.
But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness, just as David also describes the blessedness of the man to whom God imputes righteousness apart from works: “Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven, And whose sins are covered;
Romans 4:5-7 NKJV
We relate David to be a man after God’s own heart. Yet he did some terrible things. God still slowed forgiveness, because he cried out to the Lord asking for forgiveness. He knew that the love of God is greater than anything.
It’s by faith and belief in Jesus we are made righteous. We are no longer under the old law but here on the new law. Salvation is only in Jesus. We are made right by believing on Jesus Christ and what he did on the cross and his resurrection.
We walk by faith, in God. Doing things that pleases him in the right way. Today is talking about being made righteous not by works but by faith in God. As we continue to life we had to understand that concept God put before us.
