We as human beings love to boast about self. We boast on many things, life, children, house, car, job, and much more. Do we boast about the things God has done you us.
In today reading Paul talks about boasting, so let’s go into the scriptures.
Where, then, is boasting? It is excluded. Because of what law? The law that requires works? No, because of the law that requires faith. For we maintain that a person is justified by faith apart from the works of the law. Or is God the God of Jews only? Is he not the God of Gentiles too? Yes, of Gentiles too, since there is only one God, who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through that same faith. Do we, then, nullify the law by this faith? Not at all! Rather, we uphold the law.
Romans 3:27-31 NIV
Even though the text talks about the preceding scriptures, we need to stop and look at what Paul is also saying. The new law the law of righteousness in Christ. The new way of thinking requires faith in God. By receiving Jesus Christ a our savior it’s not all about works. Faith in God and faith to salvation in Jesus Christ is what the believers now relay upon. It’s not about works that any man should boast.
Since God established the new law. Jesus said I came not to destroy the law, but the law may be fulfilled. Since that is in mind, don’t boast on yourself all the time. Let give the credit where the credit is due. That is due what God has established and how we can be made righteous through the blood of Christ.
God loves it when we give him the praise, glory, and honor. Believers should live in a way that God is the first thing on their mind. The boasting on what he done for you. How God mad a way out of no way. Most of all God is our source of everything. Why not boast about the goodness of God and all of his doing. The key reason to boast about God is God redeeming power.
What the old law couldn’t do, Jesus came to fix. He have his life so we could be free. Free from the curse of sin. Free to have a life under God righteousness. No longer bound to this ungodly ways but a heart of purity towards God and his nature. We can establish a relationship towards God once we receive Jesus Christ into our lives.
One thing to boast about with God is the relationship with him. Yes the personal one on one time with God. Remember yes it good to boast about yourself once in a while. Yet it’s greater to boast about God and all he has done on your life because of Christ
