This was a song back in 1973 and it was sung by Billy Preston. There are three statements he said in the song. Those three statements is right for the ordination service. 1. Soul is a witness for my Lord. 2. My song is a testimony. 3rd is my life is a an example.
With the ordination ceremony tomorrow those three statements is so true at this moment. God love is revealed in us and through us. Each part of his song tell us how God loved is revealed. The first is within our soul. My soul is a witness. Witness to what. It’s a witness to who God is and what he has done for us. Being in leadership and in the ministry, God has a way to touch our soul. The more st inner part of our being. Our soul reflects that love of God that is within us. People will see us and know we been in the presence of God. Each person witness is difference because of their background and how the was raised. When we see the move of God over our life, than we can san my soul is a witness for the Lord. We have seen, heard and taste the wonderful working power by the hand of God.
Second is my song is a testimony. Each of us had a testimony of God’s amazing love. Not just the fact that Jesus came and died for us on the cross. It is the love of God we carry within us that makes life so wonderful to live. Those who are getting ordained have already experienced God’s love in their heart mind soul and spirit. For this reason God has given us a song in our heart to let people know about God and his marvelous ways. He is a good God. Everything God has given us should be in a song to be that testimony of his love. So myself as I sing my song it’s a song that God has given me to sing and that song is for the entire world to know
Finally the last part is living a life as an example of God’s love. As we walk and talk you are a living example of his love. In the ministry being a minister it’s all about love. Love for God, the love for others, and the love for yourself. As we walk into the love of God everything else will fall in place. People are watching us on the way we react to things. Something to think about is your life an example to God both in public and private. God see and know you. In our ordination service we will making an oath to live our life according to the guidelines and live it for God and not for man. I can only talk about myself. It’s living a life holy and pleasing before God. When I do that it’s is an example of his love. When you see a cook, he has compassion for what he is doing. Why not serve God with that same compassion.
