But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Romans 10:8-10 KJV
The word confess means to admit or state. To look at this verse closely. Points that can be taken 1. The word is nigh is come close to, near. Where is the word located. Near to us, in the mouth and in the heart. What is the word that is near and in our mouth and heart. It is the word of faith which he preach. Paul in Acts was told by Jesus to preach and teach his truth. When he does this many things will happen. People will turn from darkness to light. From the power of Satan unto God. How is this so. It is through God grace and mercy. It’s the forgiveness of sin. How do we get forgiveness.
Remember the word is nigh, it’s in our mouth and heart. The next thing is done is remember who Jesus is. He is not just a person but The Lord. As we confess the first time or however many time we confess. Confession is to admit something. When we confess Jesus is Lord we are saying Jesus Christ reign and rule over. In Jesus we have new life. That life is now hidden in Jesus Christ who paid the price.
Second is our belief in him. Not just him only but God raised Jesus from the dead thou shall be saved. This is a powerful statement. See by both confessing Jesus is lord and confessing he is the messiah who came to redeem the world from their sin by the way of the cross is key. A person may confess until they are blue in the face. The key elements is believing and receiving the fact that God raised Jesus from the grave. It prove Jesus was alive and not in his earthly form any longer. With the heart man believes unto righteousness. With the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
We see two key words believe and confess. We do we confess and believe in Jesus is Lord and God raised him from the dead. This act of faith comes to those who have received the word and believes in it.
Why do we need to be saved and from what wis the next lesson. If this message hit home. You know who Jesus Christ is and understand the things Jesus did and went through. Now is the time to know him better. Building that relationship with God and Jesus. It not religion but building a relationship with God and understanding what he want from you. He lives you and not made with you. Matter of fact he is madly in love with you.
Draw nigh to God and let him have his way in your life for the better.
If you feel the need to commit your life to Christ now is the time. Believe, confess and receive all that God has for you. Remember life in earth is short but life with God is eternal happiness.
