Most people during Easter or holy week there reflection is upon the cross where Jesus died. Do you know people stop at the cross and not realizing it’s more to Jesus story than the cross.
This week we will be looking into beyond the cross and what does it all mean. Today we are taking notes at the time Jesus was on the cross and the burial.
Why was Jesus Christ death on the cross so special to everyone than and now. Unlike any other man, Christ death on the cross put things back in order for people to come to know God in a mighty way.
We know these facts while Jesus was on the cross at the time of his death. First was God couldn’t look upon Jesus because Jesus bore the sins of the world upon him. God can’t look at sin, it’s a stain that caused by people disobedience to God directly. In the book of Romans chapter 6:8-11 it’s speaks about his death. His death or Christ death he died once and for all to sin. Death had no more dominion in him. In Christ there is life and life to the full.
His death at one point he had the sins of the world upon him. God turn his back upon Jesus so he could be the world’s ransom. Jesus said father father why have you forsaken me. There was a separation that Jesus never ever experienced before. Yet it was still patt of God salvation plan.
What really prevented us from getting into a right relationship with God. It was the law of death. The sin that Adam put on the world that separated God from man. Even in the temple there was a curtain or vail that was put up so people couldn’t see the priest for the attornment of sin. When Jesus died the vail of the temple was ripped or torn. It has now given people the access to God directly.
God turn his back on Jesus because of sin, yet the same time through Jesus death and his blood being shed have us the access to God directly. No longer looking to the priest for that attornment for sin. Jesus now had pay the price.
The death of Christ is one point we need to see when it comes to salvation. What I must to to be saved from my sin. The solution is found in Romans chapter 10
But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Romans 10:8-13 KJV
There is but one way we are saved and that is through Jesus Christ himself. The way of the cross. By doing as the word says to do in Romans chapter 10 we shall be saved.
If you are overwhelmed in life and looking for the way out. This word is for you today confess your sins to God and believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead. Confession is made unto salvation. Repent from your sin. Those evil things that goes against God’s plan and purpose for one life. Turn to God for a new life in him.
Today was just a little look into the life after the cross. Continue to join us this week. Looking at God’s plan of salvation and why this truth is important Romans 1:16. Paul said he wasn’t ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ because he knew it was the power of salvation. God plan and his purpose.
