God is a God whom we must honor and give him reverence. What might happen to us who don’t do as the Lord command could face the consequences. This topic is for those who believe in Jesus and have made up in your heart to follow him.
Achan a person who was a part of the tribe of Judah. The tribe in which Jesus bloodline was established. The tragic end of Achan and those around him is a notice to all. The notice is we can’t take or steak the precious things from God without some fallout. God clearly states those devoted things within Jericho will be put into the treasury. Did Achan steal from God. The answer is yes.
Many of us is treating God the same way. This is done by not leaving up to what and whom God has call you to. We have been setting on things and hiding things for so long. Since we been hiding things so long that God has given us to do it made God angry. At times God has called people but because of their ways they run and hide from God.
Achan hide those thing that have been devoted to God. The result was Israelite army was defeated. The covering was gone because of the sin of the people.
What really happen to Achan and those around him.
So Joshua sent messengers, and they ran to the tent, and there it was, hidden in his tent, with the silver underneath. They took the things from the tent, brought them to Joshua and all the Israelites and spread them out before the Lord. Then Joshua, together with all Israel, took Achan son of Zerah, the silver, the robe, the gold bar, his sons and daughters, his cattle, donkeys and sheep, his tent and all that he had, to the Valley of Achor. Joshua said, “Why have you brought this trouble on us? The Lord will bring trouble on you today.” Then all Israel stoned him, and after they had stoned the rest, they burned them. Over Achan they heaped up a large pile of rocks, which remains to this day. Then the Lord turned from his fierce anger. Therefore that place has been called the Valley of Achor ever since.
Joshua 7:22-26 NIV
The opportunity was made for Achan to confess and repent. For some reason Achan held on to the devoted things of God without repentance. That was his last and final mistake. For the next day he met his death. Do you know we need to confess our sins before God. He gives us all the right to do so. The real lesson from today is Achan. God judgement can over his life to the point of death.
To all of us believers or not we need to make sure we are in the right relationship with God before Christ comes back. If not people will face the judgement or wrath of God for those 7 years. God want us all come to him. Seek God while he maybe found. To the lost people that haven’t given their life to Jesus or those who have said they believe but not really pleasing God in true devotion, God is giving you the chance to look at yourself closely and see the wrong in your life and repeat. Turn yourself around and be counted unto the things of God.
Achan had all the chance to redeem himself but he blew it. He was killed because of not obeying God command and instruction. Do you want to be hurt, harm, or destroyed for not obeying what God promised you. You walk away or do not what is right in God sight. You can do that. Learn from what was writing long time ago. You action has consequences, good or bad. It effect you, those around you, and mostly God could be pleased with you or disappointed in your action.
Let’s talk do the right things for God because we don’t want to get on God bad side. Nor do we want to experience the wrath or judgement of God over our life. Do as he say and you will be successful and have a great life.
This is another word of the day from Givinhope Evangelistic Ministry. Coming your way by evangelist John Corum
Remember God want us to come unto him. Salvation comes by believing in the fact of God is alive, Jesus is real and the Holy Spirit guides us. When a person confess and believe that God raised Jesus from the dead you will be saved. We need to work out our own soul salvation in the fear of God and in trembling Knowing who he his and understand his love for us. Being saved or salvation is God’s gift for the world and it’s up to us to receive the gift.
