To far gone to turn back.

There was this song a way back called. To late to turn back now. What we will be dealing with today is one people in Joshua chapter 7 it was just to late. The errors of their ways against God caused them to get killed.

Many of us do stupid things but do we ever think about it. Good example eating a banana while grocery shopping. The cost of the banana will be calculated by how much they weigh. Once you eat one it will totally mess up the cost. That is stealing but we don’t think about it. I been guilty of eating grapes, cherries from the bag before buying then. Many people do this, but what it they was or I was held responsible for each time I did such an act.

In Joshua it only took one act that cause people to die. Achan took the devoted things from Jericho. God warn against that. In Joshua 6 verse 18 states this. For it reads

But keep away from the devoted things, so that you will not bring about your own destruction by taking any of them. Otherwise you will make the camp of Israel liable to destruction and bring trouble on it. All the silver and gold and the articles of bronze and iron are sacred to the Lord and must go into his treasury.”
Joshua 6:18‭-‬19 NIV

When we read how it made the Lord anger burn against Isreal we understand now. They took those things from God. They stole and lied without thinking the truth of the matter.

Today message is for the believers what are you laying on that is preventing you from your blessing. With all this in mind Achan new the result before he took the devoted things. Did he think God would find out?

The result from it all. What was the final result from taking away the devoted things? It was death and destruction to people who took them. The first sign of trouble was the army wasn’t able to defeat the enemy. Second is God knew what took place. Third was they got caught by the Lords doing.

Joshua confronted Achan on what he done. He confessed to the disobedience to God. Achan in his statement said he took those things because he coveted them. He continues on to say he took them and hid those items in the ground inside his tent.

Achan a person from the tribe of Judah did such thing really was very understandable. Everyone sin, but Achan violated the direct order of God. The result was death.

Don’t let your life be to far gone before you realize who God is. Just like Achan those things he saw was beautiful. He saw how wonderful it was, then he took those item. The lust of his eye got him in trouble. Soon as it took those items it was to late. To late to turn back because the damage was done. It was done at the expense of God. Be careful of the things of God because you never know the consequences.
