Today word allow God to go before you. It not by might nor by power, but by my spirit say the Lord Almighty
Are we doing things on our own effort or letting the spirit of the Lord guide us along the way. The reason why the Israelites was so powerful because they allow God to guide them.
Some was disobedience to the things of God. Is it the case when they did that was they walking in their own might and power? Yet we see in Joshua the command of the Lord for the Israelites over and over. That command is follow the instructions of the Lord. As we follow his instructions and do as he say, we will have great success.
I will give you every place where you set your foot, as I promised Moses. Your territory will extend from the desert to Lebanon, and from the great river, the Euphrates—all the Hittite country—to the Mediterranean Sea in the west. No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you. Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their ancestors to give them.
Joshua 1:3-6 NIV
The spirit of the Lord with them. They allow God to work through them to win those battles that came their way. Are you allowing God to help you to win your battle in your life. When things go off track, remember God is with you. With the word of God letting you know this. When we meditate on the word day and night. Meaning the word is our life source on how to govern our life. Our lives if we are believers in Jesus Christ show be one of reverence to God and living within his spirit.
In Joshua chapter 6 we see the victory the Israelites had in the wall of Jericho fell down. It was done by people listening and doing the commands of God. In chapter 7 we see someone greed causes God judgement to fall on the Israelites.
Just as many have follow the example of God and have had success. While other was given instructions by God to do certain things, yet they didn’t follow his command, their life was in a total shamble. It’s almost like a Sargent in the army tells one on the soldiers to do a task, but didn’t do as he was command. The soldier will get let go or have extra assignments put upon him. Honor God with your everything. Trust him and obey him. Obey him not by your might or power but by the spirit that lives in us if you believe.
