For the Lord your God dried up the Jordan before you until you had crossed over. The Lord your God did to the Jordan what he had done to the Red Sea when he dried it up before us until we had crossed over. He did this so that all the peoples of the earth might know that the hand of the Lord is powerful and so that you might always fear the Lord your God.”
Joshua 4:23-24 NIV
The powerful hand of the Lord was seen by many when it came to crossing the Red Sea and the Jordan River. To see such a site reminds us to fear God out of reverence. We can’t take God for granted, because he is the almighty God, the heavenly Father.
I think I said this before, the event of the people crossing over Jordan River, only gave the people more faith in knowing they could conquer Jericho.
We need to be reminded of the Old Testament writings because it shows us of God powerful hand. It tell us of people who believed in God through trails and tribulations. The histories of many nations and the different tribes of Israel.
The powerful hand of God is there to remind us that no matter the circumstances God is able to led us through. Joshua chapter 4 is a reflection to us all about God mighty works he has done, is doing and will do. It’s up to us to keep the faith in Him.
It’s good to see the hand of God moving in the old testament, but better works he did when he sent his only son to be our redeemer. God sent his son to die for our sins. To understand this more is having a relationship with God. Jesus, God’s only son he gave as a sacrifice for the world. His death, burial and resurrection is the factor, that God put into place. Not only did God move in the Old Testament but many more events unfolded in the New Testament. It was by the powerful hand of God. The reason why is so people would believe and not die.
