Your Jordon River experience part 2

When we last wrote about your Jordon River experience we was coming from the book of Joshua chapter 2 and 3. Within those two chapters we see the Israelites by the Jordon River. What is the real takeaway from chapter 3. It was what God was about to do. God parted the Red sea, but he also parted the Jordon River, this time it was a new way. What did Joshua tell them.

Joshua told the people, “Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do amazing things among you.” Joshua said to the priests, “Take up the ark of the covenant and pass on ahead of the people.” So they took it up and went ahead of them. And the Lord said to Joshua, “Today I will begin to exalt you in the eyes of all Israel, so they may know that I am with you as I was with Moses.
Joshua 3:5‭-‬7 NIV

At times God will do amazing things in a persons life. God will send us those amazing things to let us know that he is still with us. I could image how many of the Israelites was getting frustrated at God and their belief in God was being tested. How would God remind them or show them his wonderful works. It was through the Jordan River experience.

Joshua said to the Israelites, “Come here and listen to the words of the Lord your God. See, the ark of the covenant of the Lord of all the earth will go into the Jordan ahead of you. Now then, choose twelve men from the tribes of Israel, one from each tribe. And as soon as the priests who carry the ark of the Lord—the Lord of all the earth—set foot in the Jordan, its waters flowing downstream will be cut off and stand up in a heap.”
Joshua 3:9‭, ‬11‭-‬13 NIV

God had told Joshua what to do and he relayed the message to the people. The God has brought us over the lands and now he will do an amazing things today. The amazing thing was the ark of the covenant. This was the place in which the laws of Moses was in. When God told them to move, those priest that was carrying the ark of the covenant as they step into the Jordan, the water parted. The water flowing downstream was cut off. What was different about this God didn’t part the river all at once but as the priest walked the water stopped.

What happened next

Now the Jordan is at flood stage all during harvest. Yet as soon as the priests who carried the ark reached the Jordan and their feet touched the water’s edge, the water from upstream stopped flowing. It piled up in a heap a great distance away, at a town called Adam in the vicinity of Zarethan, while the water flowing down to the Sea of the Arabah (that is, the Dead Sea) was completely cut off. So the people crossed over opposite Jericho. The priests who carried the ark of the covenant of the Lord stopped in the middle of the Jordan and stood on dry ground, while all Israel passed by until the whole nation had completed the crossing on dry ground.
Joshua 3:15‭-‬17 NIV

The final two things we want to look at are. 1. The Jordan River was at it flood stage meaning it was at it’s highest point. Have you been at a place that seem that the flood of life have overtaken you. This is a reminder you don’t need to let it happen. God is able to come in and part those flood water that is about to happen in your life. I am a witness to this. The flood of life came into my life, before it could overtake me God provide they way of escape.

Second point to remember is God allows us to walk on dry land. In other words we might have to cross some rivers in life. With God on our side we are able to cross it. We will cross that river without getting wet. God went before to dry up the river to let us get to the other side. No worries, doubts or fear, because we know God is able to do it for us

Can you imagine what it be like when we finally reach the other side of our spiritual journey. When we cross over into the Gods kingdom. I am not talking about death, but the light of God. In that new earth and new heaven. Where our spiritual soul will be forevermore with Jesus and God. The cross the physical Jordon but what a wonderful day it will be when we cross over in the heavenly kingdom with God. The heavenly land of God.

To make sure you make it into the heavenly kingdom just ask God to reveal his truth to you. That Christ died for the world. In Christ we can be free. God can restore us and make us new again. All we need to do is believe by faith that Christ death on the cross is the redemption men need to get back to God. We can once again be heirs of God and co-heirs of Jesus. God raised Jesus from the dead and he is in heaven with God preparing a place for us who believes in him.
