Join with me on our next post. We will be talking about rahab and her faith.
A little ray of sunshine is what a person need on a cloudy snd raining day. It brings hope, the hope is knowing the sun is coming out, the rain is about to end.
People may hope in lots of things. Today it’s not just hope, but faith and works that operated together to change a person outlook on life.
The Bible isn’t a mystery if we have an open mind and the right spirit. Reading the word is great but studying it as you read it.
We judge a person from their appearance, clothes, education, and most of all their race. We found in the Bible one person who people might have forgotten about but she was a factor in the bloodline of Jesus.
Her name is rahab.
Let’s look and see what the fuzz is about
Her name is mentioned several occasions in the new testestment. One in Hebrew 11: 30-31
By faith the walls of Jericho fell, after the army had marched around them for seven days. By faith the prostitute Rahab, because she welcomed the spies, was not killed with those who were disobedient.
Hebrews 11:30-31 NIV
Again in James chapter 2:21-26
Was not our father Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did. And the scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,” and he was called God’s friend. You see that a person is considered righteous by what they do and not by faith alone. In the same way, was not even Rahab the prostitute considered righteous for what she did when she gave lodging to the spies and sent them off in a different direction? As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.
Just a little preview on tomorrow topic.
