Have you heard about the spies that was sent out secretly to see what was going on in the land? Did you hear about how they was almost captured? Did you know this lady Rahab, also a prostitute helped them out, so they wouldn’t be captured.
This is all written in the book of Joshua. Joshua chapter 2. Who was the spies? They were two people Joshua pick to spy out the land that God was about to give them. Do you know they was sent out as spies but cane back as messengers.
From the scriptures of Joshua we don’t know who those spies where, but later on in the book it might revile who they are. The spies themselves were from the tribe of Judah. This is the mission of the spies and where they stayed.
Then Joshua son of Nun secretly sent two spies from Shittim. “Go, look over the land,” he said, “especially Jericho.” So they went and entered the house of a prostitute named Rahab and stayed there.

Like I said they were in danger of being capture but Rahab protected them
The king of Jericho was told, “Look, some of the Israelites have come here tonight to spy out the land.” So the king of Jericho sent this message to Rahab: “Bring out the men who came to you and entered your house, because they have come to spy out the whole land.” But the woman had taken the two men and hidden them. She said, “Yes, the men came to me, but I did not know where they had come from. At dusk, when it was time to close the city gate, they left. I don’t know which way they went. Go after them quickly. You may catch up with them.” (But she had taken them up to the roof and hidden them under the stalks of flax she had laid out on the roof.)

This is all for today but will continue tomorrow. The main focus today is why dud she do what she did? Maybe she knew who those spies where. You see words got around in those days. Especially how God is with the Isrealites at this time. How they was able to defeat armies because God was with them. They could see the clouds during the day, and the fire at night because God was with them.
The spies was on a mission to see what Jericho was about. They knew the risk it would take them but they was willing to go. Rahab lied and told the guards that they had left. She did this after she put them on the roof under the flax.
What is the mission God has you on. Is it to let others know about the gospel truth. Are you willing to sacrifice you time and effort to do such works. We know if God is behind it, nothing else matters. We need to know and understand the mission and it’s purpose. The mission was to spy out the land and come back with the report. God had other plans for them that was beyond their control. As we go forth with a plan, it may seem right to us but God at time will change things up accordingly to the circumstances.
Obey God and what he has to give to you and it will never fail.
