Judah is now the father of twin boys.

Once again we are on the tribe of Judah and if we were to write this story in a birth announcement it would read as follows

We like to announce that Tamar has given birth to twins. Their names are Perez and Zerah. This was an unusual birth because the nature of things. As she was giving birth one child put his hand out. The midwife or the person who was with Tamar as she was giving birth. The midwife tied a scarlet thread around the wrist of the the child. The child drew his hand back at that moment his brother Pérez came forth. After that his brother Zerah came next.

This was the birth announcement of Perez and Zerah. Their father was Judah. If you think the birth was strange, wait and see who Judah was to Tamar.

Since Judah was the part of the 12 tribe of Isreal. Isreal was the nation God blessed and they became his people. From the tribe of Judah Jesus was born. This really begin the bloodline of Jesus.

Yes Judah has son, but 2 of the 3 died at the hands of God because one was evil and the second didn’t obey the commands of the Lord. His third child grew up but went his own way. At this time there was nobody to continue this tribe of Judah. What happened next was shocking to many but yet it was true. Tamar dress up like a prostitute and positioned herself in a way to trick Judah.

In a since her planned work as you notice she born to sons, they became the next in line for the tribe of Judah. Even more amazing is Judah was the father in law of Tamar.

When the news got out that Tamar was going to have twins, Judah was thinking about having her put to death. The truth came out because Tamar had something of Judah’s it was his seal and staff. Therefore I’d she went out and told people then they will know the entire story.

Your action as consequences. What Tamar and Judah did in the dark it was brought out in the light. God is reminding us in Genesis chapter 38 is this. His chosen people messed up from the start, some was killed because of their evil ways, disobedience. Yet God did have mercy on Tamar and Judah. They messed up but yet the tribe of Judah continued. In he book Exodus and Numbers we see the generation that followed Pérez and Zerah. The generation that followed out of this tribe, they had faithful men and others not so faithful, yet God did what he needed to do for the bloodline had a special gift to the world. That gift was Jesus Christ. When we read Matthew chapter 1:1-18 we see who was in the bloodline and how some people made this bloodline special. People in the bloodline did many unrighteousness things, yet God favor was upon them. Forgiveness was the key in all that people did under the sun.

Jesus came, his purpose was to die upon the cross for the entire world. Our sins are forgiven once we surrender our life to Christ. We might have some slip-up but with God with us he will forgive us all of our unrighteousness. The key purpose of today message is we don’t know how it will work out, but if we have faith and trust in God all things will work out.

This has been the history of the beginning of the tribe of Judah, from Genesis 38. More about this this tribe later on this week. Be bless and remember with God, God will work it out in our favor.
