What went wrong with my three sons

Like to hear some gossip? It all true because the Bible tells me so. This man family life is all going crazy. What happened to Judah household. Here is the account of Judah sons and the craziness of it

Genesis 38 revile the history of Judah family life. Here what happened.

There Judah met the daughter of a Canaanite man named Shua. He married her and made love to her; she became pregnant and gave birth to a son, who was named Er. She conceived again and gave birth to a son and named him Onan. She gave birth to still another son and named him Shelah. It was at Kezib that she gave birth to him.
Genesis 38:2‭-‬5 NIV

Each son had their own life. Er was the first son of Judah. He married a woman by the name of Tamar. This is how it played out

Judah got a wife for Er, his firstborn, and her name was Tamar. But Er, Judah’s firstborn, was wicked in the Lord’s sight; so the Lord put him to death.
We just know one thing, Er was wicked. The Bible don’t say what cause him to be wicked. The wicked things he was doing. All it said because he was wicked God put him to death. It reminds me of what the book of Romans says. For the wages of sin is death. If we continue to sin and willing the payment of that is death. The hope is in Christ we live. The gift of God is everlasting life. Today God gifting us eternal life through his son Jesus Christ.

The second son Onan didn’t feel right in sleeping with his brother wife. Here what happened. The main purpose was for a heir to come forth. This didn’t play out as played either

Then Judah said to Onan, “Sleep with your brother’s wife and fulfill your duty to her as a brother-in-law to raise up offspring for your brother.” But Onan knew that the child would not be his; so whenever he slept with his brother’s wife, he spilled his semen on the ground to keep from providing offspring for his brother. What he did was wicked in the Lord’s sight; so the Lord put him to death also.
Genesis 38:8‭-‬10 NIV

He spilled his seed on the ground. He didn’t get his sister in laws pregnant. He wasted what could have been. Onan violated the command that was sent forth. Since he didn’t do what he was told to do the Lord put him to death also.

We need to play close attention to what is being done before we do it. Action do have consequences and the proof is with Onan. He didnt want to have a child with his sisters in law. The reasoning behind this was he knew the child wouldn’t be his. Meaning the wife Tamar would be in total say of things.

Finally we see his third son. He was younger but still there wasn’t a person to continue the bloodline. Here is the account of the third son Shelah

Judah then said to his daughter-in-law Tamar, “Live as a widow in your father’s household until my son Shelah grows up.” For he thought, “He may die too, just like his brothers.” So Tamar went to live in her father’s household.
Genesis 38:11 NIV

Tamar now have left Judah home and went back to live with her father.

Being in power, or being in a leadership role, one must be ready to encounter anything that may come their way. The death of Judah son, wasn’t something Judah did but it was the mindset of his son. He might was thinking where did he go wrong in raising his son. What happened to my three sons, why did they do what they did.

Be careful of your action, because you never know what happen to use. I mean live a life under God guidance. Have a heart. Meaning don’t hold anything within. Forgiveness is the key to have a wonderful life in Christ.
