Before we look at the birth of Jesus, why not look into his family history. Many people want to find out about their ancestors. They what to know their origin and who they are related to. It comes down of knowing about their makeup and their genealogy.
The book of Matthew chapter 1 it tell us about Jesus family tree. It list from Abraham to Joseph. It gives us the 42 generation of people that was part of the bloodline. As we break it down chapter 1 of Matthew this is how who was in the bloodline of Jesus
Jesus from the tribe of Judah, and offspring of Jesse and a king in his own rights. This is all written within the old testaments and we will see how it all begain.
Starting from the beginning we need to see Jesus as the son of God, who came down that bloodline to redeem the world from their sins. John 1:1-5 speaks about in the beginning was the Word. The Word was Jesus.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
Therefore in Jesus is life. The life was the light of man. Yet people didn’t or couldn’t understand the light because they was still in darkness. Because of the sin of Adam God had to restore men’s relationship back to him. Jesus became flesh so we could be redeem back to God. How was that so. What was God’s plan and how will that happen.
The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham. Abraham begat Isaac; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat Judas and his brethren;
Matthew 1:1-2
Let’s look at The person of Abraham. The feared God and he ran away from sin. God found favor in Abraham. He told Abraham he will become the father of many nations. His family history will go beyond the numbers of stars and the sand on the beach. He will known as the father of many nations. Even though Isaac was born by Sarah it was written that the maid servant also had a son with Abraham and his name was Ishmael. Yet many people believe, because of God’s promise to Abraham, Ishmael his son was blessed also after leaving his father.
Isaac was born to Sarah, the Holy bloodline continues, Jacob had 12 sons, each son represented the 12 tribes of Isreal. The bloodline of Jesus came down through Jacob son Judas. Therefore that is why people have said the tribe of Judah. The tribe of Judah or the bloodline unlike others wasn’t taken over by others nation of people. Yes there could be people living today that their ancestors was part of the other nation of Isreal. The main point is looking into thev bloodline of Jesus.
We now know about what part of the nations or tribe that Jesus belong to. Let’s look at some of the people within that tribe who had a impact on others. Yes it is important to know the history of Jesus fleshly side. Yet to see how the people within his bloodline doing somethings things yet honor God and still knew and ask God to forgive them.
We going deeper tomorrow about who is in Jesus bloodline.
