A glimpse of the new heaven and earth, already can be seen in the Book of Revelation. What will it be like and why don’t believers talk about it more.
When planning a trip in advance we get information about the city we are going to. The land, the buildings, the layout of different buildings we want to see. Meaning we might travel to Washington D.C. to check out the monument or other famous government building. We also might want to check out the waterways in that area. The same for any city or town we might be traveling to. Some people plan a trip months or year in advance but yet get let down in the long run. The pictures that was shown to them wasn’t the real image.
When we talk about Revelation chapter 20 and 21 we get a real understanding what the new heaven and the new earth will be like.
Let’s see what Revelation is saying about the HOLY CITY on the new earth.
First words can’t describe how the HOLY CITY and the new earth will be like. One thing we do know from Revelation how wonderful it will look. Just as a bride all dress up for the groom all in radiant attire.
Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.
Revelation 21:1-2 NIV
People always talk about going to Jerusalem to see sights. Many people have seen the place where Jesus walked, the sea of Galilee, the mount of olive, and lots more places in Jerusalem. If they think of how wonderful those places are now, what about what Revelation says about the new Jerusalem. It will be so radiant and adore for its groom.
People forget about this, they can’t imagine a new place where God and Jesus will be. A place of rest in our spiritual man. A place to honor and praise God. Revelation goes on to describe all of the saints in the land and the design of the new Jerusalem.
Some places are so secure, to the point you need a membership to attend. Many people get an invite to see a wonderful resort but lets look and see how we can become a part of the wonderful Celebration of life.
And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life. Those who are victorious will inherit all this, and I will be their God and they will be my children.
Revelation 21:3-7 NIV
Who are those who are victorious. Those have stayed the course in worshiping God. No matter what those obstacles that people may face they never stop believing in God, Jesus, and the power of the Holy Spirit. We also can say those that came trough the tribulation period, standing firm in their faith, without wavering or falling. Those who are presently dealing with issues that could easy have them giving up on God. The Bible states those who are victorious will inherit all this.
You might be a member of a resort and pay dues. In the long run will you ever inherit that property.
Why not be sure of the real deal. When a person comes to Jesus. Asking Jesus to come and be the Lord and Savior over their lives, they now are heirs of God and Co-heirs of Christ. We share not only what God can give us down here on earth, but we who are victorious until the end we will inherit all of those things spoken of in Revelation.
Do you know membership has its privileges. What are some privileges as believers in Christ we have right now, and what is yet to come. Remember our earthly home will be destroyed but our spiritual home is for eternity.
Today was about our spiritual destination as a believer in Christ and who will be able to see the new Jerusalem coming down from heaven. Tomorrow is about our privileges knowing Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. What we gain in this world and the future world to come. Why do we need to victorious in the Lord.
