Let the journey begin. Paul and the Apostle second missionary journey in the Mediterranean area.

We are going into a new teaching now. Here at the ministry we been studying hard to bring people the good news in Acts.

We will begin the second missionary journey of Paul. Its starts off in Acts chapter 15:36-41.

Acts 15:36‭-‬41 NIV

Some time later Paul said to Barnabas, “Let us go back and visit the believers in all the towns where we preached the word of the Lord and see how they are doing.” Barnabas wanted to take John, also called Mark, with them, but Paul did not think it wise to take him, because he had deserted them in Pamphylia and had not continued with them in the work. They had such a sharp disagreement that they parted company. Barnabas took Mark and sailed for Cyprus, but Paul chose Silas and left, commended by the believers to the grace of the Lord. He went through Syria and Cilicia, strengthening the churches.

Now we see the separation between Paul and Barnabas. Was that a good separation or a bad separation. I do think it was a good separation but it came at a cost. The reason I know because it states Paul and Barnabas had a sharp disagreement. Others translation of the Bible says they had a heated debate. As we know things must come to a end. The blessing of it all was Paul and Barnabas had a good first missionary journey together.

I do think this second missionary journey was more powerful because people prayed for Paul and Silas as they started their journey throughout the region.

The purpose behind all of this was God had to seperate them two so others can be blessed and strengthened. We are going from town to town and traveling with Paul the next few weeks. Looking and understanding what Paul encountered in each city he went to. Many believed in God. Some people didn’t want to change and because of this people was against Paul, Silas, and others that was with them.

Today was only a the beginning of Pauls first missionary Journey. We will be breaking each town he travel to and how people responded to him and others. Giving a teaching point from each place he travel.

It will be different from the rest of the writings this ministry has done. We are teaching other and letting them now how the first churches started and how God was in control. Let’s go into these teaching with a heart ready to learn. We want to teach others so they can understand the gospel message in a new light.

On Sunday we will deal with understanding why separation between Paul and Barnabas God sent but yet they didn’t know.

Thank you for today’s teaching and get ready for the second missionary journey of Paul.
