Life in Christ
Acts 9
Claiming our life in Christ.
As we walk in the word today it’s about Saul. Seeing how he enemy became his ally, and his ally became his enemy. Wow what a turn of events.
Saul who hand a personal encounter with Jesus, it changed his life forever. Christ is able to do this if we have a heart of true repentance.
Key point to take away from today walk in the word.
Before Saul fully claimed his life in Christ, God had to do something inorder for Saul to see the light in Christ and God.
1 Saul became blind. God did something in his life so he could see the evidence of his truth. Now you can say God is all powerful and he is the one who rule and reign over us.
2. Fasting is part of seeing God work in our life. We gain strength from him in the point of our weakness. Jesus fast and if Jesus Christ did this to overcome things in his life, we need to do the same thing.
3. Be filled with the Holy Spirit is part of claiming our life in Christ. In Acts we see people being saved or coming to Christ and being filled with the Holy Spirit around the same time. The Holy Spirit enable us to do the work of God. When we carry the message of hope or good news of Christ we need to be filled with and prayed over before we are sent out to do the work of God. Commissioned is the term.
4. Spend time in fellowship. Since we have this new life in Christ we need to be with people of like faith. How can we continue to walk in darkness if we are children of light. Saul spent time with the disciples and there I could imagine he learned a lot over those days.
5. Spread the word. One way we know we have moved from darkness to light is the willingness to spread the gospel message to others. Saul he did as he was sent out to do. God instructs and we must move. It’s all about evangelism, so others can be set free.
Those 5 things are only a little example of claiming our life in Christ. Understanding those truth and a willingness of doing such things can mean you realize the importance of being in Christ.
It’s not all about becoming a member of a group of people. It’s about knowing who Christ is and to walk in the way God wants you to go. Being alive to those thing of God. Willingness to serve and honor him by the way we live our life before him. Saul had a conversion experience but it just didn’t stop there he went on and did as Jesus told him to do.
Next topic will be a willingness to serve my God no matter what is happening around me because I am now his.
