A word for today

July 14 2020

Acts 5:40-42

Going on

Today we are ending Chapter 5 in a sad way, but yet victorious in many ways. The key points today are-True men of God Never Give up the fight for Him. The apostles went through a lot of dangers and dark times at this point but they never gave up. They keep going on in their faith.

His speech persuaded them. They called the apostles in and had them flogged. Then they ordered them not to speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go. The apostles left the Sanhedrin, rejoicing because they had been counted worthy of suffering disgrace for the Name. Day after day, in the temple courts and from house to house, they never stopped teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Messiah.
Acts 5:40‭-‬42 NIV

The beating didn’t stop them

As they went back into the room we notice they was whipped and beaten because of what they was doing. Yet this didn’t stop them from speaking the name of Jesus Christ. The order to stop teaching or preaching in the name of Jesus Christ didn’t stop them. The people who order the apostles to stop preaching or teaching in Jesus Christ name must have been totally upset. They was mad at the fact people lives was being change for Christ. They didn’t want the word to get out.

They try to silence the truth and the word of God.

They left rejoicing How on earth would you leave a place rejoicing after you got yourself whipped and beaten down. They knew that their lives was spared because God favor was upon them. People knew who they was and respected them. Yet the leader really and truly wanted this to be done away with as soon as possible.

They was counted worthy for the disgrace of suffering they shared. Yet they continue on each day in the temple courts and at the home of others, teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Messiah. They did this without stopping. They knew the cost yet still went out and proclaiming the message on how Jesus Christ can give you new life.

How are we apply this today. Yes the virus got things closed and shut down. People are still out and about. Most churches are shut down but the leaders are not out and encouraging the flock.

People are at home their mind is not on Christ as it use to be. I am saying all of this to let you understand regardless what it may look like the message of hope and life that Jesus gives need to continue in us. We praise God for churches who have social media to share the good news. I see it from the pastors and leaders but how about other who said long time ago I will carry your message God if it has to kill me.

The point is the apostles knew what it meant and they saw the change in people. They was doing and committing themselves for the work of God. They knew God and understood the things of Christ. Once we see it to then we will be going out and tell others of the only Good News can change a person life for eternity.

JESUS IS THE MESSIAH. HE IS THE TRUTH AND LIFE. HE IS THE WAY. IN HIM ALL CAN COME INTO A RIGHT RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD. REDEMPTION IS DONE BY HIS BLOOD AND THE DEATH, BURIAL, AND RESURRECTION OF CHRIST BY GOD. TRUST IN GOD AND HE WILL MAKE YOUR PATHWAY STRAIGHT.
